IGN: Spore Hero Wii reviewed
The biggest issue I have with Spore Hero is its absence of what made the original Spore – and the Nintendo DS counterpart – more interesting: the Sporepedia. The Sporepedia is a way for players to create a wide variety of creatures and show them off to friends, but on Wii there’s no online component so unless you call your friend over to your house and show him your creation, you can’t put him on display. This is a huge missed opportunity, and it continues to show the near phobic nature of developers who continue to abandon the online capabilities of the Wii system. The only reason to build creatures in Spore Hero’s Sporepedia is to send them off to battle in multiplayer, but considering that the fight system isn’t all that hot to begin with, it’s not that great of an encouragement to build up a society of strange and wonderful looking penis monsters.
