The last digits of the game version will tell you what patch you need to download (and what version you have). I think “01″ is US and “02″ is worldwide and “”07″ is the digital download.

Correction: I am not ok with it. Apparently the patch is in the wrong game region and so can’t be installed.

Hey, it’s working now! I’m OK with the patch now. There’s no code anymore, weirdly enough. It’s funny, I attempted five times before and the code came up.

Oh, and I also found the folder where the other patches are and placed it in there. Is that what I’m supposed to do?

I got the file from this site. It’s really weird, I’ve right-clicked and pressed every button on the pop-up menu to experiment and run is the only thing that actually results in possible installation, and then of course I get the bizzare code; it’s one of those error boxes, ones with a white cross in a big red circle. I don’t know why it doesn’t work, I use Windows XP. I’ve checked and I got the right patch for my game: the one with the 2 at the end.

That’s very weird. You are installing the exe file from this site or from the launcher? If you can’t use the launcher to update then all you need to do is find your game version and download the proper ones from the patches section. I can’t really say why you’re getting funky code…

I’m struggling to install this patch, this is the first time my launcher has failed to provide me with the patch so I’m a total rookie. When I run it, it gives me a message which says the publisher couldn’t be verified – do I still want to run. Clicking the run button results in a box with codes on it. Can you help me?

I’m using a new up to date (with all the correct requirements!) macbook, and I’m having problems with adding traits to Sims on the Create a Sim mode. Basically there aren’t any to select, then it wont let me save my sim without adding traits! I haven’t even started playing the game yet…

When I try to install the patch, I get an error: invalid file message; and the patch never installs. I know I selected the right patch for my version; any suggestions?

when i’m triyng to install the versio 1.6, it stops and says that the file “TSLHost.dl” is not correct, i tried to look for the correct file in the net, but i didnt find it,
what to do?

When I installed the update it ate my traits, killed my interactions and wouldnt let me save. I had to reinstall twice. :/ Way to go EA Games.

1.0.615.00107 was the version that was leaked onto the net weeks before the game official launched. Considering it was a leak, EA did not release any patches for that version. I do not know if there is a 3rd party patch available to bring it up-to-date. I do not think it is possible to update that version.

That’s strange – because there has also been reports at the official Sims 3 forums that Mac users were able to install World Adventures without the 1.6.6 patch :/

Now I’m a bit irritated – been on the phone with EAsupport, waiting for 15 minutes to get an answer why game launcher is refusing to update to 1.5/1.6, and when I finally got through, they had no answer to why it wasn’t working. Thanks to you above who gave me the information not even EA seemed to have, that there is no patch for Mac yet…and here I bought World Adventure too early, since that software won’t even install until you have the right version on the original game. Next update, as a Mac user, I’ll wait for the first sale of the new additions…

after installing the patch and getting error 16 and the a game freeze i tried to remove the .bad file and it messed up my save, saying that the file was unable to play because expansions were removed but luckily i duplicated it the other day so i didn’t lose anything. i bought world adventures and after it installed it downloaded another patch 2.1.6 and now th game works fine again

Never mind…just read that Macs do not have it in their launcher yet :/
