The Sims™ 3 Create a World Tool – BETA* – It’s coming…

This item was filled under [ The Sims 3 Series ]

The program that I’ve been fired up for the last month will soon be made available!  The official Sims 3 Site has added details to their Create-A-World page, which means we should be seeing it shortly!  I’ll be first in line to download the new tool and if I have time, write a few tutorials and try to record a few videos.  Keep your eye on this page (or this site as a secondary backup).

Can’t wait! However, Do I have to install W.A. first before downloading this? I am not going to get W.A. until Feb of next year. This is supposed to be out in Dec, and hope I can download this to create any neighborhood without W.A. installed. Thanks.

No, this requires at least the base game. But if you do not have WA, you just won’t get any of the town features that are included in WA. And if you download a WA world, you won’t get any of the WA items and you may not even be able to download and/or use it. I can’t wait! It does suck for Mac users that it is not available for Mac. I’d love to know why since the game is for both systems.

I’ve recently bought W.A. and am looking forward to the release of the Create-A-World tool. Although, I am still curious about the release date. Would the release date be any different in Australia?

Well, if you have a spare copy of Windows or are willing to illegally download it, go ahead. Do the Boot Camp procedure. Sims 3 runs a lot faster in Windows than it does on Mac. However, Egypt does run pretty slow, lol.

UM… at the person who says sims 3 runs a lot faster on windows than mac, you must be joking…. I originally tried to install it on windows xp The install ran, the game ran in extremely poor quality, it froze after every frame, then crashed… I installed it on vista, it ran slowly, saved the game, and then encountered an error associated with disk drive malfunction, I had to replace the disk and its drive… i installed it on mac, and it runs almost too perfectly. Never froze, ran at actual speed too.

    @ nick,

maybe it’s just your computer or graphic card. cause I had a very bad old computer and obviously it wasn’t working, the same on a few other pc’s. but I bought a new pc and now it’s running very very good.
I have a 64-bit system though, so almost everything is working great. normal 32-bit vista systems are obvious slow.

why is not for mac? just because they say its supposedly faster for the pc? thats truly a lie.

and why does all the computer game company s diss the mac when most of the games are made on them.

  • 9 February, 2010, 22:23

Wish I had an answer for you :(

This is why I think it probably won’t EVER come out on Macs.

I do have it on my Vista computer, used for universalness, and I do use CAW. The way its setup, which is rather complicated, just wouldn’t be handled in this case. Have of the developers of the world use macs for designing, not for messing with XYZ axises or in-depth working. It’s the lifelong argument; PCs are for Pros on WORKING, and Macs are for Pros on DESIGNING… just the way it is :P

IF you don’t have the luxury of another computer at your disposal, I found WinXp Home on eBay for like $30! Well worth it!

I’m wondering what the requirements are for this tool. I know that it requires 130mb and all. Anyway, when I start it up and after a few seconds of loading, it keeps saying: ” The current version of The Sims 3 does not match the current version of The Sims 3 Create a World Tool – Beta: Please patch the game to continue.

  • 20 February, 2010, 21:11

I think you have to be updated to…um at least 1.6 or 1.7 or higher to use the program.

Thats a lode of bull shit windows run faster then mac i have both computers and the windows is slower on the game, that you have to wait like ten minutes just to get the main screen and on my Mac it does take nearly as long.

I’m using a 2007 MacBook Pro w/ Intel Core Duo 2 GHz and 2GB RAM on SnowLeopard, compared to my Acer Aspire w/ 4GB RAM Windows 7 and like 350GB HD, and the graphics are by far better on Mac-no slow speeds and renders much quicker

“THE CURRENT VERSION OF THE SIMS 3 CREATE A WORLD TOOL-BETA DOES NOT MATCH THE CURRENT VERSION OF THE SIMS 3 GAME:PLEASE PATCH THE TOOL.”

@rose i also installed it on xp, and now on 7… slow… and this computer had 12gb or ram… now i am using x64 snowleopard…  and it runs even better… i know you can have the highest possible settings on windows, where as mac’s are limited to what apple released during the years, but to josh above who said it runs faster, in most cases, as in 90% of the time, the settings are worse than on mac… so it really isnt “better”

  • Maya

    @nick

the reason its so slow is those are older versions of windows AND you must be lying about the windows 7 thing because i have windows 7 and it works perfectly hasn’t frozen at all and everything is in perfect shape oh and for everyone wondering why they dont put caw on mac is because windows is easier to make things for and there are more windows users…so sometime later they should have a mac caw itll be a while tho
