G4 The Feed – 10 Influential Games of the First Decade
The Sims established the perfect mix of traditional and what would become to be known as “casual” gaming, and it made an entire new segment of the population more comfortable with the idea of playing games — something Nintendo would eventually capitalize on six years later in a monumental way.
The Sims literally created the whole casual market for video games and possibly introduced many into the world of gaming who may of never considered it. Spanning 2 sequels and many, many expansion packs its amazing to see how it all spanned out.
