The Sims 3 Ambitions free DLC – “Ultimate Career Bundle”
The Sims 3 game’s method to prevent piracy is to add in bonuses for those who purchase the game legitimately. In the case of The Sims 3 Ambitions, those who pick up the expansion and register the game will be able to download – for free – the Ultimate Career Bundle!
This downloadable content will feature more gadgets for the inventor, more options for the sculptor, new cases for the private investigator and new hairstyles for the stylist. Thanks to Dimensao Sims for passing this information along!

So thats saying that those careers are not actually included but a DLC?

no, it means that theyre adding more to those careers when you register the game. like when you got a new town when you registered the base game.

It’s just a (failed) attempt at discouraging piracy (Even though it’s just as easy to post s3 packs….)
I don’t pirate btw but I don’t see how this does much good

It’s great, but I think pirates also got riverview through other legit simmers…

Okay, so this is from that post by Jud months ago when it mentioned that there would be something like this in the Store and some of us thought it would not be free. It’s like the explorer’s loot for WA, only with better stuff. So I am assuming that every EP will have a special free pack. This is pretty neat! :)

Except that the ‘free’ pack doesn’t contain any additional content, it contains items stripped from the game and repackaged. Then we get to see all the other items turning up in packs in the Store.

I would like to see these doodads of which they speak!
Not because I’d pirate if i don’t see ‘em, I always buy legit.
I’m just curious! There’s been so much still not said about this pack, in my opinion at least.

Personally…I’m okay with them doing this. However…If it comes to release day and the actuel game only includes 3 or 4 new hairstyles while the downloadable pack has about 5…I won’t be happy. These new items should be small…What about those without internet access? Do Ea consider them “pirates”? :S

I really doubt this will do much to prevent piracy. They’ll just get the pack by other means, just like Riverview and that Explorer’s Loot set. I just hope I can get this set to install ok. Since it’s not just objects, I don’t know if I’ll be able to convert it to .package files like I do all the .Sims3Pack cc I download. My Launcher hasn’t worked for quite some time so I avoid ever opening it. It usually just stalls and I have to exit using Task Manager and after a certain point, nothing else would install properly.

Tea_and_Blues, yes, that is very unfortunate. I hate when they do that. Strip the game and raise the price. How wonderful! I love EA already! [/sarcasm]

Bad news! The Ultimate Career Bundle was on pirate sites before the game was even released, again just like what happened with Riverview. Isn’t it awesome how the pirates get the parts of the game they aren’t ‘allowed’ to have anyway, while people who grabbed it used at GameStop and the like on release day (from the pirates who buy it, make a copy and then sell it at GameStop) don’t get the content.
