Missed out on The Sims 3 Collector’s Edition? Download the Montalcino Fandango SE sportscar
Those who purchased The Sims 3 Collector’s Edition when it was released last year were treated with the Montalcino Fandango SE sportscar. It appears that just recently, The Sims Team decided to toss the car up on the store as a freebie for those that missed out. So if you didn’t pick up the CE and would like to add it to your game, download it here. Thanks to Sims 3 Nieuws for bringing this to our attention!

I am not surprised that this happened, since EA did the same with a few objects for Sims 2. That’s the main reason why I never bothered with the C.E. I bought the regular for the fact that it was much cheaper and because it’d be easy to find the exclusive downloads elsewhere (sorry, I don’t believe that it’s illegal after the code has expired, but that’s just my opinion). Personally, I’m glad because after the first few patches, EA made it to where even these exclusives wouldn’t show up in your game if you didn’t download it directly. Now I can have it in my game.

Yeah, I’m unimpressed. I paid for the CE for a couple reasons, this car being one of them. However, I’m not surprised EA would do this.

It’s unfortunate that some of you had to buy it and then this happens. At least, now we all know for next time never to fall for it again. Trust me, I was very close to getting myself a copy, but i had this strong hunch that something like this would happen.
But have you noticed that since Ambitions, there hasn’t been any exclusive pre-order items? Personally, I’m glad. It’s pointless if they are going to be available at other sites, anyway.
