I hope they win. I hope all lawsuits against EA are won. They have been taking people for the hard earned money for years. But the drones of EA will never see the light.

My computer kept crashing and my DVD drive and sound started acting up, I spent hours on the phone with my computer manufacturer and all the time it might of been that DARN Sims 2 game that messed the quality of my custom made laptop up!!!!!

I agree with both JudHudson and tessieroo what there doing is wrong, its invasion of privacy , and last I looked that was still against the law, at least if your anyone else, I love playing the Sims games, and want so much to get The Sims 3, but I don't want limits on how many times I can install it and not being able to put it on another PC, I've heard you will only be able to install it 5 times and only on the same PC, which means you would have to buy the game again if your PC messes up, and you have to buy a new PC, so if I pay them $ 49.95 or $69.95 for the special one I'll have to pay that again to play it on a new computer, now after reading here about this lawsuit I realize now that it was this stupid Securom thing that messed up not one but two of my PC's, I should bring my own lawsuit down on there fat heads, I didnt even know about this thing, and I have all the The Sims 2 EPs and SP's too, which mean I don't just have it from Bon Voyage I have it from Free Time and Apartment Life too probable, what there doing is stabbing there loyal customers in the back, and making those of us who payed for there games also pay for the few who steal the games, which kinda makes them thieves themselves, because there stealing are right to privacy , that said, the one here taking up for them, why kiss there butts they don't care they just wont your money, loyalty apparently means nothing to them.

You're wrong in thinking it's about money? It's about the law...EA has no right to install programs on anyone's PC without their knowledge or consent. My personal PC is just that - MINE

EA isn't going to loose that much money from the lawsuits, and it's not going to stop them from producing The Sims 3. You're safe on that.

I support these lawsuits because it's the only way to get the point across to EA. We've tried complaining through forums, emails, letters - all in which EA knows the fans are frustrated with their choice of DRM but refuse to listen to the fans. In the end, the last thing we can do is create lawsuits in hopes of legal action to be taken (some lawsuits are in it for the money, while others will settle for nothing as long is the DRM is removed from the game).

Money speaks, so the more lawsuits that are created, the more EA is have to realize that us consumers mean business.

But in light of the lawsuit, if EA were going to lose money, it wouldn't be the fact that everyone is suing, it'd be the fact that not many people are buying their games. That is why they are going through financial problems right now due to low sells of their products (speculating here, but I would assume DRM plays an important factor in why not many folks are buying their games).

Of course, PC is a small market compared to consoles, but PC is still a strong money-making base for EA in which they'll never give up the platform. Look at The Sims 2 - over 100 million sold, there not going to give up those potential sales for TS3. :)

Alright, here's a question. You're hoping for more lawsuits. Why? Are you a dis-satisfied customer with EA? I'm sure everything will work out, but wishing EA to lose their money to people angry for reformatting their computer because of The Sims is simply pointless. I don't want to see an end to The Sims 3 because they lost their money to produce and ship it in a lawsuit. I mean, I'd donate all my money to help production (Provided there was some return, because I'd need to continue living with bills), but you're taking a bit of a step saying that.
