Too bad it's coming from TSR.

Claiming that the EULA lets them sell content made with this tool is completely untrue. Any content made for TS3 (or TS2 for that matter) is the property of EA. They're a bunch of criminal liars over at TSR.

Guess I get to quote myself for a third time. :)

Pescado said:

I see only vaporware. It looks like they only have a generalized capability to understand a common .obj format and display it, without actually being able to do anything USEFUL with it. No need to panic.

To which I replied:

That's basically all it is at this point, import TS2 content or other .obj meshes, separate it into channels. Not much more until the game comes out and they can actually see how to stick the data into a Sims 3 package. Conspiracy theorists can stop panicking. (More so if they'd actually READ to begin with. :P) I'm pretty positive that there will be multiple tools out there to all do the same (or similar) things from multiple sources anyhow. I mean look at how many Sims3Pack editors we have so far. (Although mine isn't out there just yet, but still :P) So quit getting so worked up about it and chill, good grief.

Isn't it amazing TSR has so much information on a game that hasn't been released yet. Never the less this'll work until superior tools are made and given the likelihood of this being something actually made in whole or in part by EA superior tools will have to be made.

Jfade may know, perhaps he'll stop by and share more information on the tool. :) I'm not going into speculation mode yet...That'll just get me in the middle of a new war - gonna try to stay out of them, they are not that fun to be involved in ;)

This is something to be happy about, period. This tool would allow me to get custom props for my machinima. My brother is an excellent 3D modeler so I already have a good 3D artists on hand. :D

lol cmon Jud :) This is something to be happy about only if the community can be absolutely assured that TSR received no exclusive help from EA in creating this tool. The text seems to imply the opposite.

TSR did not create any of the previous Sims 2 tools; they profited from the free efforts of others.
