Iron Man Project Reboot

For those of you that check the site often, you might recall the “Iron Man Project” that I started. Unfortunately the original project files were lost due to a hard drive crash and no backups. I have decided to attempt to restart the project, I have no idea how long this will take, but hopefully the end result will be representative of the work. Also, the biggest hurdle to get over is the sheer amount of lots required to fill the neighborhood, if anybody would like to contribute lots (or sims for that matter) to this project, please email me the files. I will credit you in the description and you will be allowed to name the street that it is placed on (no obscenities), all types of lots are appreciated, but please don’t use store content or custom content, however content from all expansion packs and stuff packs is accepted. Bar Karma Premieres Feb. 11th

Bar Karma is the love child of Will Wright’s Stupid Fun Club and the TV channel Current TV. Bar Karma is a community-created TV show that started as a small beta group about 10 months ago. Jud and I were both fortunate enough to get invites into this beta group. The beta group created ideas and then ultimately voted on the pitch for the show that they found to be the best. The final product is a show about “the bar of the universe” where there is no sense of time or location. This bar is run by James Anon, a man who has many past lives (he has “died” hundreds of times), and Dayna Rollins (I actually created this name for the character, and I was fortunate enough to have them use it in the final product). The rest of the background story of Bar Karma can be seen in the trailer below. So, can a successful TV show be created by the community in only 10 months? Find out on Friday, February 11th at 10PM Eastern on Current TV. Once the show airs please leave your comments and opinions of the show as comments on this post.

After many months of being in the beta stage, the filming for the pilot of The Stupid Fun Club and CurrentTV’s new tv show, Bar Karma, is complete. Here is the trailer/preview that they have put together. Sorry for not having covered this project sooner (Both Jud and I were among the first beta users).

7/10/10 – CAW is Finally Fixed, So The Project is Back On!
Status: Work In Progress. The project includes the design of a giant neighborhood, and it got its title because I have decided to include a custom built version of Tony Stark’s house from the Iron Man Movies. It will include components from Sims 3 Ambitions (when it is released) and will most likely not be complete until early-mid July. To give you an idea of how large this is there are 2 videos below comparing the time it takes for 2 different cars to go through one of about a dozen islands (not done terrain sculpting). As you can see, the slow car (Speed 4) takes about 75 Sim minutes to complete the route and the fast car (Speed 10) takes about 20 Sim minutes to complete the same route. Please post comments and suggestions (such as where to place community lots) below. Updates, pics & videos after the jump!
