Milestones: I interviewed Will Wright once, on facebook. Well that's it. Oh and I was about to quit the community (for obvious reasons) then SimCity 5 was announced.

SnootySims previews The Sims 3: Pets

Our good friends at SnootySims have just previewed The Sims 3: Pets PC version.

I started a new Sunset valley neighborhood and not Appaloosa Plains,, deliberately to see if all Pets stuff is also available in another neighborhood. One thing I noticed is that I didn’t see any wild horses or strays. Perhaps that takes time to spawn just like celebs when starting a new Neighborhood. Or perhaps they’re all in the woods, but I didn’t want to spend too much time searching the whole neighborhood as time was limited.

Since I recieved the most questions about the horses, I first started up Create-a-Sim. You can’t make a family of just horses so first you need to make a Sim. To start up Create-a-Pet, just click on the ‘add a new sim or pet’ button and there you pick either a Sim, horse, cat or dog. Then the background changes into a stable where you start with your horse. In the first tab, you need to choose a first and last name and choose between male or female. Also the age must be chosen here (adult or elder) In the second tab, you can pick a race. I counted 31 horse races.

In the next tab you choose the fur. You get a very versatile way to create everything you can come up with. You have several layers which each can get multiple colors. When you choose a layer, it’s just a small spot but you can strech it out over the horse where ever you want it to go. I must say that this is much more complicated then what you’re used to with the Sims Create-a-Style. It’s really getting used to and I expect some really crazy designs when the game is just out.

And more this way…

New Store-Content Patch, Or not?

EDIT 3:26 Sunday (CDT): W3byfreak of SimsSlovenija told me yesterday that the file is 25kb (the one he also located at My Documents: ContentPatch) my bad.

EDIT 14:11 Saturday (CDT): Crinrict informs us of two files included with the patch to the Documents or My Documents (PC): “ContentPatch” &  “ContentPatch_0000.part”. According to AznSensei, it only changes meshes and textures:

Here is the list of not fixed so far:

1) Simetry Seater still in Counter Section >.>
2) Sectional Seating of Tiki Outdoor changes to original color
3) Recoloring of the Futureshock Counter returns to original color.
4) Hands > Sands in Garden Gate Section
5) Fountains stayed the same, no animation…. -.-

Fixed for me:
1) Vineyard Counters stay as the re-colored version making L-Shape.
2) Back 2 Skool “individual” bunk bed stays the same color! Yay no more “glitchy” look and multiple beds stacking on top of each other! ^_^

3) (Removed I just noticed I was able to recolor the Culinary Dreams for a long time).
4) Shoppe Counter and Island are recolorable
5) Checkered Dresser has complete description.

EDIT 11:27 Saturday (CDT): Owing the info received from our comments, we know that the patch now adds to graphics and functionality for Store objects. And from SimsVIP that it was taken off some time ago:

♦ Update ♦ 10:00pm 9/9/11 – After getting home, I just tested to see if this patch exists and there is no connection between EA’s Servers and the computer.  With this I conclude that there will be a patch released at some point, but for now it is only a prompt.

Perhaps, its been relaunched and now includes the features as mentioned in the comments. Hmmm. If anyone sees a patch note please tell.

Old post:

SO: When you launch the game, the launcher detects a new ‘store content’ patch, which installs in 2 seconds, perhaps hinting towards how big it really is.

Hover over everything

What’s even more of a downer, (at least for us trying to study this new patch) the patch notes link you see at the bottom left, doesn’t open anything (it should.)

So to help learn the ropes of this new patch and patch type, if you manage to open the patch notes, or see any averment of this working or doing anything, please refer to us in the comments.

The Sims 3: Platinum for PS3?

iSims has spotted a German Amazon listing of The Sims 3: Platinum for PS3 at 30 Euros / 39 AUD.

German Amazon has added a “Die Sims 3: Platinum” page. This offers The Sims 3 for PlayStation 3 for less than 30 € / 30$ !  I searched on the internet about the “Platinum games” – they don’t offer anything new, ‘Platinum’ just means that the game is cheaper.

I’m not sure if it’ll be available in other countries too, since I didnt find anything on the internet.

New Sims Social Set

editss.png

Sooner or later these will get too copious to post. This set brought to you by Russian Sims fansite Sims.Mixei.Ru and thanks to SimlishSims for the tip.

I like how some of these are priced in Simoleans for a change, however a lot, still better than SimCash prices.

And, a fireplace! In Simoleans? Only downside is the house value begotten by its purchase differs too far from its price.

New Sims Social Objects, Quests, and Rocker Apparel

29 new objects, rocker attire, and quests.

Yes, it’s yet another modern set: so mainstream now.

And some rocker fashion :

ss-sp-6.png

Wouldn’t it be cool if you could collaborate with your friends to form a band in SS? *sigh*

Sidenote on the Aquarium kerfuffle: The aquarium enters the market, priced at a measly 200 Social points. After a while, SS enters maintenance mode, playfish plays with the values, and the aquarium is removed. When I come to check it’s current value while it’s in my storage hangar. It show “150″ SimPoints valuation, suddenly it’s worth $12 for all those who bought it as soon as it came out. Also quadrupling it’s household value, and raising the value of the house it’s in.

Also: for anyone experiencing problems with requesting to wall, say, the alien toy, or the stove skill prerequisites? And when you do, you hit snag? Yeah, well, it means you have already sent a wall post request not 24 hours ago, and you’ll need to wait until tomorrow to wall request. It won’t say that—it just snags—but that is what’s happening.
