Soft review from GGSgamer on the late Sims Medieval:

Although the game is undoubtedly expansive it does feel as if some parts are missing. This could be deliberate; do you have expansion packs ready to go already EA? Some have commented that the game feels slightly rushed and although I agree in part I don’t believe it takes anything from what is an excellent and comprehensive game.

The Sims: Medieval will appeal very strongly to both RPG and Strategy fans thanks to its clear structure and addictive Quests. An unexpected gem, it has reawakened my love for the series and will undeniably prove enjoyable for non-Sims fans as well. This really is a game in which you can delve as shallow or deep as you wish and has something to please everyone.

Good times!

• Longevity: there are so many options available each play through will be unique.
• Graphics: all characters, buildings and objects are beautiful.
• Laughs: the dark humour very rarely disappoints.

Bad times

• Haven’t I seen you before?: Sims look very like those in The Sims 3.
• Frustrating interface: Menus and progress bars can be tricky to locate.
• In progress: You will often get the feeling you’ve been given just the bare bones.The Sims Medieval is rated PEGI: 12+. I personally feel that the rating is a little harsh as there is no bad language and the violence is portrayed in a very cartoon like way. However progressing through the game does mean undertaking a lot of reading and complex decision making, so I don’t think most youngsters will feel that they’re missing out on much which is just as well as the game would most likely be too challenging.

Dutch review website (Bashers) bashes a new look on Medieval’s flaws:

This new volume in the Sims series is in many ways far away from her predecessors. The many different elements into a robust whole principle but feel a little bit of scratch. In addition, old functions such as building and furnishing houses almost faded into the background. The assignments are often simple and shallow but funny and entertaining.

There’s just no escaping the feeling that you never really sympathizes with your custom characters, digital roguish characters that you ever lived with so much in modern life. Nevertheless, the new road that EA strikes a very refreshing and a reasonable number of implemented features suits and respectable. A good bit earlier next game The Sims 3 can be played rather than being a substitute.
