Alala Sims – Pics/Videos from The Sims 3 Pets Adopt-A-Pet event

Brazil fansite Alala Sims shared with us 217 pictures of the Adopt-A-Pet event in which fans could gather to play The Sims 3 Pets and possibly take home a pet of their own! Looked like it was a great success, I would love to know what the tally was for the adopted pets!
Gay Sims Club 2 Shuts Down

Yet another Sims fansite will shut down forever. Gay Sims Club 2 will be offline November 29. I’ve known Scotty for quite a few years, and I can’t imagine how difficult this must be for him to make such a surprising decision, since his site was one of the largest LGBT fansites that I know of. I am just sad to witness plenty of fansites go in such a short amount of time. But I totally respect their decision, and they will be missed. Below is from the email that Scotty sent me:
“Dear GSC Member and friend,
It is with a heavy heart that I will be closing the Gay Sims Club. After nearly 6 years, it’s time to shut it’s doors, The GSC has been our home for a very long time, we’ve all become like Family. When I first opened the GSC all those years ago, I had no idea how it would take off, or what an impact it would have on the Sims Community.
This is very difficult for me, and I did not make this decision lightly. I’ve been agonizing over this for weeks, wondering what I was going to do with the forum. Finally reaching my decision to close down.
We have until November 29th until the servers shut down. If there is something you need or want, I highly suggest you come to the GSC and get it, whether it be a download, or to say goodbye to some friends. In the future, I may open another forum, if I do, I will be sure to let you all know. The HoT covers a lot of games, and it has a section for the Sims. If I do create another forum, I will be announcing it there.

SimlishSims says goodbye

It’s a sad day for the Sims community, SimlishSims has announced that they will close on November 10th. They will be missed, but hopefully they will return someday.
It brings me great sadness to announce the closure of SimlishSims in the near future. As you have have noticed, I (Pat) have slowly drifted away from the site due to a combination of a busy life and a lack of true interest. Nick (my co-admin) has also taken on other commitments and thus has also drifted away. The site has basically been unfairly left to our journalist Simillion.
The above has lead to Nick and I making a decision to close SimlishSims.

Origin is having a sale. I have no idea how long the sale lasts. The sale is 60% off a lot of selected games. It is also 60% off the $10 bundle of simpoints. Thus making it $4 for 1000 simpoints.
Here is the kicker. You MUST use the origin PROGRAM. The code does not work on the origin store website. So again, program only.

You can only buy 1000 simpoints at a time. So if you want more, you must do multiple orders.

Another Sims Fan Site Says Goodbye

It’s sad when it happens, but that’s how it goes sometimes. Today, SimSide announced that they are shutting down. Farewell SimSide, may your memory live on with your readers. Here’s the last post on their site.
After one and a half years, we must now regret to inform you that Simside will pass from the scene of the Sims fan sites. The decision was not easy for us, but after it with Simside already in the last few weeks getting steeper downhill went, we had to decide sooner or later for this step. We would like to thank all the fans have been loyal to us over the past year and a half to the side and have supported us. Thank you for the great time Simside your team.

So it’s been a few weeks, time to check in on the ol’ poll and see what the results are like, as well as bring forth a new one!
What do you think of the Create-A-Pet tool in terms of functionality. Did it do everything you wanted?

- It is missing a few to create that perfect pet, but its okay (25%, 152 Votes)

For a poll that has been around for about 3 weeks, not too many people participated. For the most part, the majority agree that the Create-A-Pet demo was pretty darn good in terms of customization. Here’s hoping the next poll will be better, probably will, because the idea came from Black Scorpion! With a week left until Pets is released, we want to know what is the first thing you will most likely do when you first play?

Sims Franchise homepage gets a re-design

Okay, this is new to me, but perhaps it’s old to some of you. Looks like the homepage of TheSims.com picked up a fresh look sporting off the latest games of The Sims franchise. I know The Sims 2 is considered old, but why not promote it as well seeing as I can still find it in about every game store I go to.
