NOT SIMS/EA RELATED… SO GET OVER IT!!!
Let’s read it, shall we? And yes, you WILL read it… Get it?
He’s standing behind a four-foot-high steel trebuchet (a relative of the catapult). “Fire!” he cries and sets the balloon hurtling across the open workspace. Some 25 feet away, a colleague holds an iPad like a shield and deftly intercepts the flying balloon head-on. Happily, the balloon bounces off without rupturing. The tablet emits a recorded sound of shattering glass; a broken-window image fills the screen. “Fantastic!” Winter shouts with unrestrained glee.

EA turning all their games into online universes
Apr 20th
This is something interesting, EA are transforming all their games into online universes – will be see another Sims Online out of the ashes? I do hope so, since TSO/EA-Land was just amazing.
EA is turning all of its brands into what it calls "online universes".
At EA’s UK showcase this week, EA’s Northern Europe boss Keith Ramsdale said all of EA’s game franchises, including FIFA, Battlefield, Medal of Honor, Star Wars, The Sims and Need for Speed, were being transformed in this way.
This means more than simple online play, Ramsdale explained. It involves being able to play a "brand" across multiple devices, each one contributing to a singular goal – and profile.
Ramsdale used FIFA by way of an example. "Imagine a player gets up in the morning, plays an online match on his 360 before going to work," he said. "On the bus, on his way to work, he practices his free kicks on his tablet. At lunch he looks at the transfer window on his PC. On the way home he chooses his kit on his smartphone.

EA Not Cutting People? Kotaku LIED!!!!
Apr 16th
Well, let’s just say that they are coco along with Startup Grind. LOL! Anyways, EA has released a statement today in response to these allegations. Let’s take a look at it below!
“EA is growing and looking to hire hundreds of people for our digital, console, mobile and social games. Like all game companies, we make occasional adjustments to resize teams as projects are completed and new priorities are established. Overall, we expect that headcount will be up at the end of this year.”
Interesting!!! No? You know it is.
EA Plays Nice with Banned Players
Apr 16th
So this is a good thing… About time. lol
EA has revised its previous Origin policy that blocked suspended or banned users from accessing entitlements, DLC or access to single-player content. “If you find yourself with a disabled account, please note that you can still play EA games in single-player mode,” the publisher stated on its site. “For PC games you will need to enable Origin’s offline mode to play games with a disabled account. Go to the settings tab in Origin (the gear icon) and select Go Offline.”

EA – 500/1000 People = Not Good
Apr 16th
Poor game sales? Star Wars? What’s to blame? Not much telling.
The report claims between 500-1000 employees will be affected. That’s a lot of people, even for a company as big as Electronic Arts.
Startup Grind’s report goes on to speculate the layoffs are a result of a disappointing 2011 in which a few hit games (like Battlefield 3) had their sales overshadowed by an overspend on marketing, expensive acquisitions and disappointing subscriber numbers for big-budget MMO Star Wars: Old Republic.

SimGuruGraham on The Sims 3 – Part 3
Apr 12th
He has replied for a third time, and other SimGuru’s have been posting too. I’ve even gave my two cents somewhere in the forums, and most of you can probably predict what I said
I get the sense that people think I would slam EA if I got the opportunity to, but as a whole EA is quite supportive of The Sims. The Sims Studio has been a real highlight for EA over the years, and with that comes more trust from executives and upper management. Nobody here is forced to work extended hours for weeks on end, in fact I don’t recall anyone ever telling me that I had to work late or come in on a weekend. Generally speaking people are very self sufficient here. They know what work they’re responsible for and when they need to get it done by, and they’re trusted to manage their time in the way that works best for them. SimGuruMeatball mentioned how there are hundreds of people across different teams within The Sims Studio. I don’t have any hard numbers in front of me, but I’d say that the amount of people actively working on The Sims 3 at the moment is about the same if not more than what we had from the time we started making expansions with World Adventures. Regarding customer service, I’ve seen a couple of notes from them before that made me shake my head, but I think it’s really impressive that at pretty much any time you can almost instantly be speaking with a live person who will try and help you. I don’t know of any other company in the industry that provides that service for comparable products. I’m sure they’ll continue to improve through additional training and knowledge transfers with dev teams.
