The MySims Return to Save the Skies from Morcubus with the New Flying Action-Adventure MySims SkyHeroes
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., May 05, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) — The thrill and high-speed action of flying meets the creative, immersive world of MySims(TM). The EA Play Label of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:ERTS) today announced MySims SkyHeroes(TM), a new flying action-adventure and the next installment from the MySims franchise is in development for Wii(TM), Nintendo DS(TM), and for the first time, the Xbox 360(R) videogame and entertainment system and PlayStation(R)3 computer entertainment system.
“MySims games have truly become favorites among kids, families and gamers alike, so we have challenged ourselves to take development to the next level and deliver a new style of adventure for fans with game features and MySims-style fun that can be enjoyed equally by all,” said Scott Evans, General Manager of the The Sims Studio. “We are thrilled to have many firsts with MySims SkyHeroes, like introducing epic boss battles, cooperative gameplay missions and online multiplayer, all available for the very first time in any MySims game.”
In MySims SkyHeroes, players take to the sky to lead the resistance against Morcubus and his drone army and to stop his plans to take over the skyways. Starting as an unknown pilot, players fight to become a celebrated hero as they defeat dangerous enemies in aerial combat, test their reflexes in fast-paced speed challenges, and take on massive enemy bosses that demand all their skills as a pilot to survive. As they progress, players build, customize and tune their aircraft to give them an edge in combat – upgrade wings for swifter maneuvers, switch out the engine for a speed boost, or change the paint job to camouflage the plane and avoid enemy fire.
The popular MySims franchise, which has sold over 8 million units worldwide, will debut for the first time on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 with MySims SkyHeroes. Expanding to these new platforms, the game will feature a full solo campaign, as well as local split-screen and online multiplayer where fans will be able to fly with or against up to 10 friends in – cooperative or competitive modes.
Developed by The Sims Studio in the EA Play Label, MySims SkyHeroes is scheduled to be available worldwide fall of 2010. For game artwork, visit http://www.info.ea.com.

MySims Sky Heroes to hit PS3 and Xbox 360?
Apr 7th
When you see a MySims game, you instantly think Nintendo. Many deem it as a kiddie game (which essentially, it is aimed at the younger audience) hence why it is very strange to spot a listing for the next game in the series – MySims Sky Heroes – for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. SimFans found out that ABC Software has both listings (Xbox 360, PS3) added to their site. It also lists an EAN code (similar to the barcode in the US) which helps ground it to be true. I’m remaining skeptical though… I just can’t see the game working on a system other than Nintendo. But hey, it’s possible!
MySims SkyHeroes for DS – ESRB details
Mar 20th
InfiniteSims caught wind of the ESRB raiting for MySims SkyHeroes listed for the DS platform. It’ll also be released for the Wii, but at this time the rating has only been released for the DS version. It does give us insight on how the game will play out:
This is an action-adventure game in which players select a “cartoony” airplane to complete a variety of missions: racing, target shooting, aerial combat, etc. In some missions, players use “goo guns,” stylized rockets, and blasters to defeat enemy aircraft. Bright colors and star effects indicate successful hits; planes disappear in a puff of smoke when shot down.
Not my type of game by the sounds of it, but I’ll need more details before I can judge it.
The Sims 3 on consoles, MySims Sky Heroes & Spore to have online support?
Feb 9th

EA COO John Schappert said during the company’s Q3 financial earnings call Monday that “every one of EA’s releases will have an online component—both downloadable content and online play.” That goes for Dead Space 2, the two Need For Speed titles, and Crysis 2, as well as Fighting Title and Action Title. Everything.
Now, does everything even go as far as MySims Sky Heroes, the new Spore games and the various console/handheld releases of The Sims 3? Cause if so, it’s about time! There are a number of EA games that would of been perfect for online play – MySims Racing and MySims Party for one. I wonder what online feature’s they’ll consist of…leader boards, a library of downloadable content (like the Sporepedia), a Sims 3 Store (no thanks!). Better keep your word, EA. I want to start playing your games online! Source: Kotaku
Up, Up and Away! EA trademarks ‘MySims Sky Heroes’
Jan 31st
Just picked up an interesting bit of information from Destructoid. Looks like one of our upcoming MySims games this year will be MySims Sky Heroes as EA filed trademark on the name earlier this week.
On January 26, 2010, videogame developer Electronic Arts, Inc. filed to protect the trademark MySims Sky Heroes in relation to “Computer game software; Computer game software downloadable from a global computer network; Video game software”. A second filing for MySims SkyHeroes covers “Entertainment services, namely, providing an on-line computer game; Provision of information relating to electronic computer games provided via the Internet”.
Here’s hoping that this game won’t be a flight sim but rather some sort of Superhero adventure. If Buddy busts open a Superman shirt, I’ll be there day one.
