MySims SkyHeroes & MySims Agents 2 (canceled) Concept Art

Dentface, everyone’s favorite MySims expert from MySims Wiki discovered 3 pieces of concept art from Genevieve G. Tsai, one of EA’s concept artists. The three pieces are of MySims SkyHeroes as well as MySims Agents 2, the sequel in which it appears to have been canned by EA (I had wished not, or perhaps they decided to take it in a different direction). You can find more cool artworks at Genevieve’s site, The Wuffles Sketchbook (heads up – its NSFW due to some adult content – and by all means, do not bug her or talk about MySims – please be respectful of her work!)

IGN – MySims SkyHeroes DS reviewed

Crash and burned…ouch :(  Looking forward to picking all 4 games up in the Bargin Bin soon.

The DS version of MySims SkyHeroes is oddly more complicated and way less fun than the console versions. The story mode is missing the clever writing that I enjoyed in some of the previous MySims games, and the lack of variety in the missions makes most of them feel like a chore. The punishing gameplay takes away from what could be a really fun multiplayer experience.

GameSpot – MySims SkyHeroes Wii review

Thanks InfiniteSims!

The Wii version of MySims SkyHeroes comes with a full retail price, and the game tries its best to make it worth the cost. The problem is SkyHeroes stretches two relatively shallow, albeit accessible, game types over an excessively long Story mode where their AI problems are put on display over and over again. The multiplayer can be a source of some entertainment, but only lasts as long as the learning curve does–which is to say, not that long. Once players become experienced, it often just becomes a race to see who can gain the strongest power-ups while they’re not flying in circles. This might have worked well as a smaller, more limited, and cheaper product, but as a full retail offering, SkyHeroes never gets off the ground.

You’ve guessed it – another ‘poor’ score…

Playstation LifeStyle – MySims SkyHeroes reviewed

Gameplay is below-average at best. Players go around the maps picking up powerups and using them on opponents. There are a variety of powerups available but over time it becomes a very repetitive experience. The maps are rather large and offer differing challenges each time they are played, so overall there is just not a lot of variety within the title. Seeing as how you are a part of the SkyHeroes team during the campaign, you will find yourself playing many dogfights or races (these are the only two modes within the entire game). Some missions will find you working with your squad mates and others will have you against them. The problem is that it is essentially the same thing over and over at the end of the day.

Go Fanboy – MySims SkyHeroes PS3 review

More and more bad scores are piling on for MySims SkyHeroes.  Knowing this fact, I should probably start to keep an eye on the clearance bins.  It won’t have a long shelf life with the full retail priced games, that’s for sure!

Overall MySims SkyHeroes is another nice effort at providing kids with something to play, by results in being merely worth a flyby. EA wants to provide a coach flight for the price of a first-class ticket. With so many other games out there offering a better version of what SkyHeroes is trying to provide, there’s no sense in picking this one up. If you even bother renting, keep your parachute on, because you’ll be hitting eject quickly. SkyHeroes is available now at retail, but don’t bother.

GameSpot – MySims SkyHeroes review

Another badly scored review for the first flight MySims game, this time by GameSpot:

MySims SkyHeroes isn’t quite full retail price (it comes in at $49.99) on the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, but it really seems like the game tries its best to make it worth the normal cost. This might have worked well as a smaller, more limited, and cheaper downloadable product, but as a full retail offering, SkyHeroes never gets off the ground.

MySims SkyHeroes DS screens

Sure, it’s been out a week, but we really haven’t seen that many screens from the DS version of MySims SkyHeroes.  Luckily, MySims Wiki sent me a few via email.  Enjoy and be sure to check out their site for everything MySims related!

XboxOnly – MySims SkyHeroes review

Gee, Hopefully this might be our last review for MySims SkyHeroes :D. Anyways, Dutch Gaming Site XboxOnly took the time to write down a review on MySims SkyHeroes, giving it a 70% out of 100% due to childish graphics & theme and other disappointments.  A Google Translated snippet of the review can be read below.

MySims SkyHeroes is for the young players among us, but occasionally also fun for more experienced gamers. It’s a fun, simple game. Do not expect any deep thought or story, but actually more separate missions. The missions are short and entertaining, but the lack of variation and the simple nature of flight, they eventually repetitive. The creative aspect is very well developed and offers many opportunities to tune both your aircraft and your character. All in all, MySims: SkyHeroes is a great game.

GameZone – MySims SkyHeroes review

German gaming site, GameZone, has written a new review on MySims SkyHeroes. Thanks once again to SimlishSims for spotting it.

MySims Sky Heroes is a completely harmless flight game that really can only inspire the young players to some extent. Unfortunately, the only two types of missions are just a short time only barren, so the Sims will probably end up very quickly on the shelf. Here you can also rip out the multiplayer any more. Only a tiny fraction of the emission differs from this scheme, which is far too little. Since you can equip its aircraft and the Sim with a lot of things and almost endless array of unlockable material is present, would have actually missed only creative missions, including the developers, however, had apparently given up. Instead, it only goes racing and gives herself to death matches, if the team or not. Because there are several power-ups, forcing the comparison to Mario Kart on, but even this can MySims Sky Heroes not even keep up with the approach. Pity, with a little more passion would get a nice flight junior game, as the action for a very short time may well have fun.

Anyhow, after a whole week of reviews it seems MySims SkyHeroes has been given just a little touch of inspiration in which features harmless (except to your wallet) childish fun that still manages to knock up financial success cause it has “Sims” in its title. But that’s the reviewers…So instead, let’s hear yours. If you’ve got the game and don’t mind, drop by the comments and leave your opinions on MySims SkyHeroes. :)
