MySims SkyHeroes features some adorable cameos from some of our favorite characters from other EA games. Ever wanted to see Morrigan from Dragon Age square off in old-fashioned aerial dogfight with Isaac Clarke from Dead Space? Neither did we, at least until now. You can play as any of these characters in the SkyHeroes multiplayer, which includes co-op and versus dogfighting modes as well and co-op and versus races. While we didn’t get an actual render of Isaac Clarke to share with you, we did see him in our demo today and EA and can confirm that he’s equally adorable. Here are the characters we can share:

In the campaign mode you start out as a nobody pilot and level up to unlock new parts for your plane and Sim. The parts aren’t just for show — they also help you defeat your enemies. I haven’t seen the creator in action, so I’m not sure how easy it is to modify your plane or Sim, but this is a game designed for kids so I hope it’s simple.

Of course, the longevity of this title lies in its multiplayer matches – up to 10 people can play together online on the Xbox 360 and PS3, and up to six people can participate on the Wii. There is split screen local co-op as well, so you and a friend or family member can enjoy the game together on the same couch.

As this is a Sims title, you can definitely expect customization features for your character and your airplane. On top of that, there will be special characters included from other EA games. Isaac Clarke from Dead Space, Morrigan from Dragon Age, Shepard from Mass Effect, Dusty from Medal of Honor and Salem and Rios from Army of Two will all be unlockable as playable characters. And in a way, this will be the first time any of these games will be represented on the Wii!

Characters are extremely customizable in MySims SkyHeroes, with over twelve different plane types.  All parts are fully interchangeable and can be painted individually for complete personal customization.  Playing through the main campaign yields many unlockable plane parts ranging from purely cosmetic to weapon upgrades.  Early weapons include a basic machine gun and missiles.  It isn’t until later in the game that one can unlock devastating weapons.

The main campaign features five chapters, each with a special boss event and a total of 42 chapters.  One of the neat things about MySims SkyHeroes is that there is no way to lose.  Players have unlimited lives.  Each death results in your pilot spawning in a different part of the level, without loss of game progress.  This is a great feature that rewards young children for not giving up – a valuable lesson to learn that will help them throughout their lifetime.

MySims SkyHeroes is an aerial combat game that mainly features dog fights and races. The idea with SkyHeroes was to create a game that would be as hardcore and competitive as your Modern Warfares, but still appropriate for all ages. This age appropriateness showed as the colors on the screen were bright and vibrant. Personally, I prefer bright and vibrant, because it shows everything much clearer. It is easy to tell what is happening on the screen at all times, and there is usually a lot going on with SkyHeroes.

The dog fights and races can be played on and offline. Up to ten people play during each match. Offline bots can take the place of the rest of the planes during split-screen action. There are items, boost pads and a whole lot of action that goes on during each match. It is kind of like Mario Kart, but in the sky.
