In The Sims™ 3 Katy Perry’s Sweet Treats*, players can sweeten up their Sims’ lives with Katy Perry-inspired, candylicious items that will enhance their game experience such as décor, furniture, objects and of course, fashions and hairstyles. Today, EA announces The Sims 3 Lunar Lakes is now available for digital download exclusively at The Sims 3 Store. Set on an intriguing new planet full of the eerie and unknown, The Sims 3 Lunar Lakes is one of the most unique and far-away worlds ever created for The Sims 3. Having settled on this foreign planet several generations ago after their spacecraft became disabled, Sims have been hard at work to establish a thriving society on Lunar Lakes. Now complete with fully functioning roads, schools, businesses and agriculture, Sims have settled into three areas of the world. The first location is a flat expanse of land called ‘spaceship plain’ built on the disabled spacecraft area. The second area is a craterous colony where bohemian farmers live along the shores of freshwater lakes. The last locale is settled by a group of stragglers who inhabit the edge of society, pursuing their own creative dreams.
Players have the opportunity to explore the subterranean dwellings of Lunar Lakes and discover the mysteries that are waiting to be revealed on this planet. One of the prominent locations is the science lab, which has been built from the remnants of the crashed spacecraft. Many Sims work at the lab and have discovered a number of fascinating scientific findings about the planet. For one, the world is powered completely by alien crystals that are embedded into the planet’s rocks. Through excavation, Sims uncovered these crystals and the importance they bring to life in Lunar Lakes. Sims have also discovered the Tree of Prosperity – an exotic plant that bares fruit which give Sims bonus skills when eaten.

Progressive teams up with The Sims Social for a new campaign

Yo know Flo, the Progressive spokeslady that stars in those commercials on tv that when you see them, you feel like throwing the nearest object into it? No? Perhaps it’s just me then. Anyhow, this Thursday Progressive will be introduced into The Sims Social in their new campaign. Yep, you’re now going to be dealing with insurance – in a video game! How freakin’ exciting! Cause it’s just so wonderful to deal with the insurance company in real life, now my Sims will get to have the same joys and wonders I do! /sarcasm
“Whats interesting about a game like The Sims is we can put players through experiences we’d like them to do for real in a virtual world. When they’re in the market for real, they’ll think of us first,” he says. “I like to believe absolutely that sims need car insurance.”
Originally, the designers wanted to integrate Progressive by having players use insurance to fix things in their houses, but chose to focus the campaign entirely on Flo, Progressive’s trademark saleswoman. Player’s will complete a few tasks for her, and in the process, think about Progressive. The ads featuring Flo do have a sort of manic upbeat quality to them, and so it actually feels like a good fit for the Sims.
The quests will reward players with an energy-boosting unicorn. This might not seem like a big deal, but apparently, Sims Social fans have been practically beating EA’s door down demanding unicorns. As usual, the internet provides.
If I’m not mistaken, I think TheBlackScorpion likes these commercials…so with that saying, Go with the Flo (I had to squeeze that lame joke in there somehow, lol).

Just the other day I was thinking, “When is MadCatz going to release their Sims 3 peripherals” and was surprised to see that The Black Scorpion has posted about the mood-changing Sims 3 mouse. Changes Color to Match the Mood of Your Sim*
The backlit Plumbob intuitively reacts to how your Sim is feeling while you’re playing The Sims 3 or any of the game’s expansion/stuff packs.
