SimCity’s menus and interface look great, especially on the iPad thanks to its additional real estate. The touchscreen is an excellent way to navigate around the many options. The iPad edition adds pop-outs for checking city activity and status, making it easier to customize your experience.

In addition to the new interface, the visuals in SimCity Deluxe have been spruced up for the iPad. Everything has extra animation and really pops off the screen. It goes a long way to making your cities not look so same-ish after a while.

EA has issued a fact sheet for SimCity Deluxe (iPad version) and reports are in that the game has been released in various countries like New Zealand.  The updated version will set you back around $6.99.

I would love to play SimCity Deluxe on the iPad, the tiny screen is harsh on my fingers when it comes to the iPhone

After checking out SimCity Deluxe for iPad in person, though, it seems that the franchise has finally found a device that can do it justice. SimCity Deluxe for iPad uses the graphical assets from SimCity 4, so it looks gorgeous on the bigger screen. The biggest benefit however is the revamped user interface and extra screen space that allows for simple and intuitive controls. The content is largely the same as the iPhone version of SimCity Deluxe, with 7 starter cities modeled after real world locations, 7 scenarios with specific goals to work out, and of course the ability to start completely from scratch. An EA rep demoed the game for me and this video shows off a ton of the features in the game:
