Simcity Societies is going to need our help. For those of you who are fans and love Simcity 4, then chances are this game isn’t for you – no matter how much you are convinced. For those who like to try new things, then hopefully you’ll give Societies a chance. It doesn’t seem to be getting much love over at Simtropolis.

I’m going to give it a shot. It reminds me of the Simsville that we never got. It’s not going to be a day 1 purchase for me though. I just don’t have the funds available at the moment due to christmas shopping. But hopefully I can grab a copy a week or two later. Either way, I’m going to get it. I heard there is suppose to be a demo copy released, but I cannot find any more news about that.

Anyways, if you are interested, you can click the “Support Simcity Societies” banner on the sidebar and it will take you to Amazon to order a copy. The game will retail for $49.99 and will be released on November 13.

Once I do get the game, I should be able to get some tutorials gathered up. I don’t expect any programs to start coming out of the gate for awhile once it is released. Prove me wrong, programmers!

I was browsing the Simtropolis forums and came across this thread that listed the system requirements for Simcity Societies. The requirements are below. It looks like I will be able to run the game after all! Unforunately there are waaayyy to many games coming out around November 13th that I’ll have to wait a little bit. I do hope some fan sites start kicking up with some tutorials and programs for the game. It looks like (in my opinion) the general crowd is shying away from the game.

OS: Windows(R) XP SP2 / Vista* (FAT16 and FAT32 File Systems are not supported by Digital Delivery)
Processor: 1.7 GHz Intel CPU or faster, AMD XP 2100+ or faster

Memory: 512 MB RAM

Hard drive: at least 2.1 GB free space (4.2 GB required for Digital Delivery)

Video card: 128 MB**

DVD drive: 4 speed (Not Required for Digital Delivery)

Sound Card – DirectX 9.0c compatible

DirectX – Version 9.0c (included)

Input – Keyboard, Mouse

*Windows Vista requires a 2.4 GHz processor or equivalent and 1 GB RAM

**Supported chipsets: NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900 or greater; ATI Radeon 9600 or greater; onboard chipsets not supported.
