NPD PC Chart for the week ending on May 30, 2009

Kotaku posted the NPD results for the week of May 24 thru May 30. Seems like every week, Maxis games bounce from the end of the list to the top of the list. In this case, Spore received the biggest jump back up to #3. The Sims 2 is still running strong taking the lead at #1 and it’s expansion, Apartment Life, is near the end of the list clocking in at #9. Next week is going to be interesting…Are any Maxis games going to be dropped off due to the release of The Sims 3? We’ll just have to wait and see!

NPD PC Chart for the week ending on May 23, 2009

The NPD PC results are in for the week of May 17th thru the 23rd! Sim fans are still crazed for TS2 it appears, as The Sims 2 Double Deluxe tears up the #1 spot. The latest expansion, Apartment Life is still holding on at #10. As for Spore, it’s still trying to keep up – doing better but not where it should be (at the top of the list too!) coming it at #5. Only two more weeks before I can report TS3 as the number one spot

There is something about EA games that I can’t quite figure out. Perhaps they just make great games, I don’t know. But regardless, the same three games that I’ve been reporting for the past few weeks are still hanging on the NPD charts of the week May 10 thru the 16. Practically, the only change is that Spore moved up a notch to #6.

Poor poor Apartment Life…hanging on the NPD top 10 list for the week of May 3rd thru May 9th. Luckily Spore is doing a little better, moving from 10 (last week) to #7. And Double Deluxe? Well, apparently it’s still selling like hot-cakes.

Looks as if EA is still struggling trying to stay on the list of the NPD results for the week of April 26 thru May 2nd. While The Sims 2 Double Deluxe holds a steady position at #2, The Sims 2 Apartment Life and Spore are at the bottom of the list with the #9 and #10 spots.

NPD PC Chart for the week ending on April 25, 2009
May 5th
Crazy…If you have been following the NPD PC charts (I have a feeling I’m the only one), you might notice that this week’s sale results are very similar to last week’s NPD chart. EA/Maxis games are pretty much staying in the same spot, only changes is that Spore swapped to the #9 spot while Apartment Life is now at #10. Luckily we only have one more month until TS3 is released, so I’m going to expect all of the games to shoot back to the top (I’m willing to bet Sims 2 games will start to go on sale real soon for cheap).

Sheesh, EA had a good run with their games last week, but for the NPD PC chart for the week of April 5-11 they took a nosedive. Only 2 Sim games made it in the top 10, Spore is nowhere to be seen…But then again, the list is like a yo-yo, it’ll bound to come back up!

NPD PC Chart for the week ending on April 4, 2009

If it’s one game that cannot be stopped on the PC, it has to be The Sims 2. A total of 5 EA/Maxis games takes up the NPD PC Chart throughout the week of March 29 thru April 4. Spore is one, coming in at #9, but The Sims 2 takes everyone by surprise. Double Deluxe sneaks back up to the top spot, Apartment Life comes in at #4, and our old pals Pets and University comes in at #8 and #10. If only we can get an NPD chart with all 10 games being from the Sims series :D How about selling them for $5 each, EA?
