The Sims 3 hits the Android market
Dec 18th

I’m not too big in the phone scene, but for those that own Android devices, EA has released The Sims 3 to the market – $5 appears to be the price according to Android & Me. Hopefully this will make a number of you happier for the holidays!
NokNok – The Sims 3 (for Nokia) reviewed
Dec 8th
The Sims 3 is now free at the Nokia Ovi Store, so if you have a phone capable of playing this, might as well pick it up!
Just like real people, the Sims have hopes and wishes, goals, needs and wants. Just like us, they dream of getting that all important pay rise or promotion. And if you don’t feed your Sim it will become hungry. If you don’t wash it it will start to smell. The Sims 3 is a proper real life simulator in your pocket. If things do get tiresome you can always teach it a new skill, or spruce up your home with new furniture by bringing up the Build Mode menu.
Unfortunately, it’s when you start to dig deep into the many, many features of The Sims 3 that the experience starts to grate. Testing The Sims 3 on an N97 we found the controls difficult, frustrating and unresponsive at the worst of times. Simple tasks such as making your Sim walk involves more taps of the screen than should be necessary. It’s not a problem all of the time, but it’s still annoying. What makes it worse is the sluggishness of the game’s touchscreen sensitivity, most notably in menus requiring you to slide a bar to access further options.
IGN – The Sims 3 for Windows 7 Phone reviewed
Nov 5th
For the most part, Sims 3 for Windows Phone 7 looks great. There are occasional slips like Sims merging into each other in social settings, but the Sims themselves are nicely detailed and have good animations, such as when they make silly faces or try to get all kissy-faced. The town itself looks pretty good and is easy to navigate by touching buildings, although it is somewhat odd that Sims in the town map are represented as little blue and yellow Playmobil characters as they move around town. I understand this has some technical reasoning behind it, but with as much effort as you make to personalize your Sim, to see him or her reduced to a general figurine is disappointing. It would be cool to see this town be truly alive.
The Sims 3 comes to Symbian^3 mobile devices
Oct 29th
If it isn’t an iPhone or Blackberry, then I’m pretty much clueless when it comes to mobile phones. It appears that EA has ported over their mobile game, The Sims 3, to the Symbian^3 handset device, putting the simulation into more people’s hands. A review has popped up covering this version over at AllAboutSymbian.com, rating the game a B-.
This version of Sims is not that much different to the last iteration on Symbian handsets (which, if we’re honest, is true of every Sims game on every platform); the low level addiction was there, the quick gameplay (each real day that didn’t take up too much time, balanced off against the accelerated time passing in the game world) is pitched perfectly; and the mix of goals, personal management and fun things to do is still right in the sweet spot. Add in the larger screens, polished graphics and touch interface and this is a winner that’s improved with age.
