(PC) Ambitions
And this is why EA Singapore rocks of awesomeness!
Jun 11th
I am very flattered – and deeply honored I may add – by EA Singapore. They are readers of this site, and knew I was trying to get my hands on a copy of The Sims 3 Commemorative Edition. So what did they do? Well, I came home to find the following package waiting for me:

What’s inside, could it be? Yes it is! A brand new copy of The Sims Commemorative Edition! This saves me so much time having to worry about importing a copy. I can’t thank EA Singapore enough for what they have done. You know that I’m a huge collector when it comes to EA/Maxis products so this means a LOT to me. Especially over the fact that a majority of the cool items end up being hard to get and track down due to them being produced in countries other than the US. I’m very thrilled to know there are people out there that will go above and beyond the call of duty in helping me out, and I owe all of my gratitude to them for sending me a copy!
I can’t wait to start reading it this weekend!
Make it rain & snow in The Sims 3 Ambitions!
Jun 11th
Amazing discovery coming from the official Sims 3 forum. Apparently if you tinker around with the special fog machine using the in-game cheats, you can make it snow and rain! Here’s what ‘ilovesims38‘ had to report:
How to do it.
- Open cheat window enter, Testingcheatsenabled on.
- Then Buydebug.
- Go under misc.
- There will be a ball called fog emitter.
- buy it.
- hold down Shift+ctrl and click it.
- you will have three options
- Make sure visual effects is activated.
- then click the visual effect button enter what you want. (list of commands below.)
- then add “ability to add trigger”.
enjoy!
I didn’t find this thank somebodies name who I cannot mention!

Geope – Sims 3 Ambitions Review
Jun 11th
Geope has a new Sims 3 Ambitions review:
The Sims 3: Ambitions isn’t an outwardly dramatic addition to the Sims universe, and technical problems could potentially get in the way of your fun. Yet this is a thoughtful and delightful expansion, full of wit and character, and it gives you even more control over your sims’ daily lives. If you enjoy nurturing (or antagonizing) these unintelligible avatars that need to be told to empty their bladders, then adding Ambitions to your games library is a sure way to show off your logic skill.
Vi.deoga.me.uk – Sims 3 Ambitions Review
Jun 11th
Vi.deoga.me.uk has a new Sims 3 Ambitions review:
Overall the expansion is worthwhile to devout Sims fans. There isn’t much more to the package besides the new jobs. There’s a few lifetime rewards to dish out, but these are tailored more to the new jobs anyway. Would I recommend it? Yes, as long as you like the jobs on offer. If not, there’s nothing else here to push you to playing it.
VideogameUK verdict: 8/10 (!!!)
DailyJoystick – big ‘Sims 3 Ambitions’ review
Jun 11th
A big rad review of Ambitions has come up by DailyJoystick. Here’s the last bit of it:
Overall, I must say this game is well deserving of the hours I’ve spent playing it. It is another amazing addition to the collection and in my opinion, if you love The Sims or if you’re even just a little bit curious about trying it, then consider getting The Sims 3: Ambitions. At only around $38, it’s not a bad deal for what it offers. Well done EA, well done. In addition, I must give a heartfelt thanks to Will Wright, the original creator of The Sims.
EddieDover – The Sims 3 Ambitions Review

Gear up for another review, this time from EddieDover:
I’ve been a fan of the Sim* games since I was a child, so up until now it has been a little difficult for me to hold back the bias I have for the Sims series. (Un)Fortunately, with the release of Ambitions, I’ve finally started to experience the onslaught of bad programming and bugs that most people complain about. All in all this expansion merges flawlessly with the older expansion and actually provides entertainment….if you can get past the painful annoyances. I rated this expansion 4 out of 5 stars, not because it was lacking, but because it seemed unpolished and really didn’t live up to all of the hype. I understand that the Professions we were given were very complex and probably took a lot of effort to create, but it seems like everything wasn’t balanced properly and a bit more could have been added. See below for details. I would like to note that I could have added a lot more cons about what Could have been added/changed, but given how many expansions were released for Sims 2, I’ll just hold my tongue and wait for the next release, just in case

‘Geeks are Sexy’ – The Sims 3 Ambitions reviewed
Jun 10th
Damn straight I am
All in all, I’d say that this is a nice expansion in terms of functionality, but that it will really only significantly impact gameplay for those who want it to. I’ve never been one to micro-manage my sims too much, and I also tend to play large households – if you want to play every moment of your sim’s day, including their job, then that means that you can really only focus on a single sim. But at the very least, the new town is awesome and there are some nice bells and whistles. I should note that this expansion has made my loading time much longer, but I’m not sure if that’s a widespread problem.
My first story goal when I actually have some time to sit down and play: a ghost hunter who has a ghost baby. How dramatic!
