Early Imaginary Friend Animation?
Dec 30th
Dave Vasquez was an animator at EA from mid 2003 – early 2009. The screen shot below is of a short 8-sec video titled, “Just For Fun”. With the theory that Generations was a filler EP/a way for EA to make more $$$ by removing stuff from the Base Game, it might be possible that the Imaginary friend might have been planned for the base game. That’s just my opinion. Anyways, once you see the video, you’ll instantly recognize the walk.

Simlicious Reviews Generations
Jul 13th
Dutch fan site Simlicious has a new review of Generations! Source: SimsNieuws
One new feature is the game is the memory system, with special events in the game, it happens to a Sim that memory, or sometimes even several sims. The getting a reminder message appears right above one, as with every report. It is then possible to use the “share this memory,” the memory sharing on Facebook and / or thesims3.com. Memory can be positive, negative or mediocre, this has no effect on the lives of the Sims.
PALGN – The Sims 3 Generations reviewed

Generations also adds another career into the mix, with adult Sims now able to seek out employment as a professional babysitter. Interestingly enough, rather than venturing off to work on a daily basis, Sim parents from all over the neighbourhood will descend on your doorstep in order to utilise your babysitting services. While the neighbourhood kiddies may look like sweet, innocent cherubs, their true colours shine once mum and dad leave, turning into needy balls of trouble. As a babysitter you’ll become accustomed to changing nappies, making sure they’re well fed and keeping the kiddies amused with ‘attack the claw’ – an action which involves you making a claw motion to keep the kids smiling and giggling. The babysitting career can be quite challenging to deal with as you’ll have your own Sim’s needs to contend with as well as those of your young brood.
Sims Nieuws – The Sims 3 Generations reviewed

Sims Nieuws has published their review on The Sims 3 Generations. Here’s a snippet – hit their site for the full coverage!
Like I’ve already told, it’s in the small things, that is where you can find the innovations of each generations. It all starts with interactions and the consequences of them. To give an example, my Sim had a fiancée and a boyfriend, I choose the interaction ‘kiss’ on the boyfriend while the husband was at work and the neighbour was in the garden. That evening, after work, her fiancée came home and he accused his wife of cheating. This was really something right before their wedding. But by adding such situations, EA made the game more realistic than any other game I know. Of course there are more things than accusing, there a lot of new situations!
Another Two Easter Eggs Found in Generations? (Updated)
Jun 28th
Why is it that i didn’t notice this before? SimsVIP has discovered that on the back of the baby/toddler gnome there is a paw print. This is similar to the paw print found on the dog brush in the pic in the previous post. First “dog” poo in a bag and now this. If there’s any kind of snow flake anywhere and on anything in Pets, we’ll know what the sixth Expansion will be.
Then there’s this. SimsVIP also found this picture in buydebug. It’s given to kids/teens when they go on a field trip to the graveyard.
Notice the ghost to the left of the Mausoleum? Is it from the green lighting? If it was the death by old age ghost would also be green.
-UPDATE-
A Simmer on the official forums martys15 has tested green lights with a water ghost, check the pic below for the results.
As you can see, the blue ghost remains blue. The stomach of the green ghost in the middle pic is black, different from the water ghost. I love Easter eggs.
A New Generations Review by 4Gamers
Jun 27th
I have now lost count of the number of Generations reviews on the web thus far. Sims Nieuws has found a new review or Generations by the Dutch gaming site 4Gamers.be, check it out below!
Just as we are, so it will continue. Good news for people who do not like change. The Sims 3 has been behind some extensions and enhancements as usual is that far from ending. With The Sims 3: Generations (‘Generations’), no added extras that make the game a different appearance, such as that with the expansion pack ‘Ambitions’ and ‘Late Night’ was the case. However life gives another dimension to the basic gameplay. The whole life and now reaches a new level of realism.
The Sims 3 games can be fun and stay for the fans, but even after a while it will always be the same. Grabs you right back to the same elements, partly due to the limited capabilities of your Sims life and partly by your own preferences. This is The Sims 3: Generations pass. At almost every aspect, new interesting features added. It is thus not limited to additional furniture or other attributes, but also the behavior of your Sims now includes several new features. This expansion gives the fans more to play, but offers no additional elements to the larger audience.
GameSpot and their review of Generations
Jun 26th
I’m still not convinced that GameSpot has actually PC gamers or fans of the Sims games as employees. That being said, here’s their review of Generations. Thanks to lolifofo for the heads up.
The Sims games have traditionally received two types of add-ons: “stuff” packs that give fans new items like decor and apparel, and full expansions that add brand new gameplay elements. The Sims 3: Generations is an awkward middle child, granting you more than just hairstyles and new chairs but none of the inventiveness found in previous expansions like World Adventures and AmbitionsThe Sims 3. This addition is a pleasant extension of what already does–not a game changer–and series addicts will undoubtedly enjoy how well Generations captures the essence of life’s individual milestones.
