26 hidden skyscrapers unlocked for Sims 3 Late Night (Mod)

Sims 3 Cri has created a mod which will enable 28 (they say 26, but 28 in their description) hidden shells – or skyscrapers that you can purchase from the Buy Mode Catalog in which you can start building bars, clubs and apartments without using the default lots!

Not only that, they also have another mod which will unlock a few hidden objects like the Gobo Light Mania small (3×3), Wall Mailbox and Barney’s Trash Chute!

You must have Late Night installed to use these mods!

IDG – The Sims 3 Late Night reviewed for the Mac

Aside from these two minor issues, however, The Sims 3: Late Night is a great addition to the Sims 3 series. The main focus is on socialization and, well, partying, and it certainly makes for an interesting storyline–not to mention all sorts of drama. It is unfortunate that you can’t bring your old Sims into the new storyline, because as Sims players know–it takes awhile to raise and care for a Sim, and starting over from scratch is a little frustrating.

GamesRadar – The Sims 3 Late Night review

One of the biggest problems with Late Night is how it fails to integrate all this new content effectively with the old Sims 3 experience. The expansion includes a brand new town, which is well designed and includes all the new venues. However, if you want to place some clubs or apartment buildings into your old towns, near your old families, you’re going to have to do some extreme overhauling. You would have to spend a significant chunk of time demolishing old town buildings and replacing them with the new ones before you could enjoy the new features of the game. This means that Late Night is best experienced if you start from scratch with a new family, which will be a massive loss to some people, and an inconvenience to others.

Digital Spy reviews The Sims 3 Late Night

More often than not, EA has succeeded in seamlessly integrating an expansion pack’s new features into the core game. However, this is not the case this time around. Late Night divides locations into two categories – suburbs or late night neighbourhoods. Any neighbourhoods in existence before the release of the latest add-on appear in the suburbs category, making these locations devoid of any additional content. This is a particular problem if you have a long-running saved game, since there can be no interaction between your existing Sims and those that belong to one of the late night neighbourhoods. As it’s difficult to take advantage of the new features when loading up an existing file, many players might feel the need to start from scratch.

Carl’s Sims 3 Guides – Late Night’s Celebrity and Astrology guides

I don’t know how the folks over at Carl’s Sims 3 Guides can keep up pumping out so many new articles on a daily basis.  They have added 2 more helpful guides covering the Celebrity aspect from Late Night along with the newly implemented astrological star signs.

The Sims 3 Late Night is very focused on the night life scene – getting into the hottest clubs, partying down and rubbing elbows with the rich and famous. To enjoy most of the new features to their fullest, a Sim should aim for some level of Celebrity for themselves. You’ll need a minimum star ranking to get into the most exclusive hangouts in town. With this guide to fame in Late Night, we’ll show you how to raise your Sim’s star level, become a celebrity, get special items, and make a Sim so famous they can walk right into any night club they like.

The Sims 3 Late Night – Celebrity Star Levels, Gaining Celebrity points, and Becoming Famous

The Sims 3 Late Night has introduced astrological star signs for Sims. While the Zodiac does not appear to influence personality, it can impact on relationships between Sims.

Choosing your Sim’s Star Sign
Pre-existing Sims and babies born to your Sims will have a random star sign appointed with no way to change it, but you can select astrological signs for any new Sims you make in Create-A-Sim.

In CAS, there is now an extra tab in the personality section for star signs. When you create a new Sim, they will be assigned one of the Zodiac signs, but you can change this to whatever sign you want. Star signs are not affected by traits (or vice versa) so once you select a sign, it will stay that sign even if you later change the traits of your Sim.

CinemaBlend interviews Grant Rodiek on The Sims 3 Late Night

A new interview popped up over at Cinema Blend in which they interview Associate Producer Grant Rodiek on all things Late Night related.  They tried to get him to spill what is next in the series, but game developers tend to keep their lips sealed until they’re ready to announce the game officially.  They also touch base on a few of the popular glitches that are occurring, stating their care of the Sims 3 series…

As far as some of the glitches that are popping up (the butler disappearing, the excessive vomiting)… Is there an update coming up?

I don’t have details or specifics but I will say, and if you look at our past, this is true, we’ve always supported our games. We’ve supported every launch with updates and fixes. That’s both after the game is released and also when we release new games, we always give new features, new content and new fixes for past expansions to our players for free.

We’re committed to that. We want to make sure that you guys have an awesome experience. We want to make sure that we fix these things and you know, sometimes stuff gets past us but that’s not an excuse. We’re going to find ways and we’ll fix it.

We’re actually looking at the vomiting bug today. We follow the forums, we have a huge community team, not to mention the producers and designers are watching the boards and reading stuff and trying to figure it out, so I don’t have details on specifics but if you look at our past, we’ve always supported our games and we will always support our games. That is a corner mark of who we are. We want to make sure that we’re not just going to sell a game and abandon our players.

Associated Content – The Sims 3 Late Night review

Another positive review of The Sims 3 Late Night from Associated Content.

Ultimately, The Sims 3: Late Night is more than just a reloaded version of the Sims 2 “Night Life” expansion. More importantly, it adds a considerable amount of new content to your Sim-world, with a whole lot of bang for your buck. New traits, careers, items and a new urban world full of nightclubs, bars and other hangouts gives your Sims more options for how to spent their time. “Late Night” brought back the perfect mixture of the old while introducing the new, and it is easy to spend way too much time on just one of the features—like becoming a local celebrity or a vampire—that this third expansion adds a tremendous amount of hours to the Sims 3 video game clock. It’s a steal at $39.95 in the official EA Store, and you can purchase either the downloadable version or the physical copy.
