Thanks to a post over at SimOperations, we were informed that GameSpot is kicking off their voting for the Best Videogames of 2009. A number of EA games has made their way onto the list:
- The Sims 3 for Best Strategy Game
- MySims Racing for Best Driving Game

- The Sims 3 for Best Original Music
- The Sims 3 for Most Improved Sequel

Personally, I voted for Spore Galactic Adventures – because I love Maxis. They love you too. So vote for them. Right now. Do it.
VideoGamer – Top 100 Games of the Noughties – 100-91
Dec 19th
Here’s an interesting fact that I was unaware of…hell probably the only person on Earth who didn’t know…I had to google the term Noughties . Yep, I have never heard of that word before. In fact, I even had to run it thru a text-to-speech program just to make sure. Well, at least I was able to learn it enough in time before the decaded ended!
Speaking of the last 10 years, VideoGamer.com takes a look at the top 100 video games of The Noughties with a listing of games from 100 to 91. The Sims 3 barely makes it on the list as the 100th game:
Originality is a rare commodity in the world of gaming, but it’s even rarer to see an original game that sells well. The Sims is the best-selling PC game of all time, a roaring success people still buy and play (and indeed pirate) some ten years after its first appearance. Since then we’ve had two full sequels along with countless spin-offs and console versions, but the series’ main draw remains largely unchanged. The Sims is a living doll’s house, a unique gaming experience that allows us to play God while simultaneously engaging with our all-too-human hopes and fears. It’s a game about doing the dishes, paying the bills, and trying in vein to shag your hot single friends. It’s also the only game on this list that lets you trap a man in a room with no doors and no toilet – an activity that has to rank as one of the cruellest pleasures in the history of gaming.
Cast of 90210, Vampire Diaries and more sporting The Sims 3

More pictures appeared online of various television actors from the 90210 show as well as Vampire Diaries and many others sporting off The Sims 3 during one of EA’s promotional events. Check them out at The Sims 3 Official Facebook Page.
PEOPLE Magazine – Famous Tweens mashed together in The Sims 3
Dec 15th
The People Magazine website has an small image of many famous tweens that were a huge hit during this past decade. Amongst them all, there is Miley Cyrus, Jonas Bros, the Harry Potter crew, Twlight gang and a few more. All this is part of EA celebrating 10 years coming up in February of 2010. Wish there was a bigger image to go by, it doesn’t look half bad.

Dec 14th
At last! Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 has dropped, allowing TS3 to take the number 2 slot. However, it is no match for Sega’s Football Manager 2010. Perhaps we’ll see the game back at #1 by next week. Both World Adventures and Spore seem to still be at their same spot as last time, taking positions at #4 and #17 respectively.

Happy Holidays – Top 10 reasons to give The Sims 3
Dec 10th
It’s nice to see Brad finally getting what he deserves but is anyone else noticing how the Sims team is trying to market the game based on sex? What ever happened to just expressing your creativity?

Nothing much has changed regarding The Sim’s status from this week and the previous week other than both The Sims 3 & World Adventures swapped places. At least they are still holding on strong, trying to stick by Football Manager and Modern Warfare 2!

Actor Corbin Bleu showing off The Sims 3
Dec 4th
Perhaps readers here are more familiar with Corbin Bleu than I am, as he is most famously known for the High School Musical movies. He stopped by the Starlight Hospital Happening Event at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Los Angeles yesterday and showed off some of his Sims 3 Skills. EA and The Sims 3 sponsored the event with the conjunction with Variety’s annual Power of Youth initiative, to which Starlight is a charity beneficiary. Love hearing about charity work and happy to see EA playing a strong role. The hospital’s teens had a chance to spend time with Corbin, play The Sims 3 and The Sims 3 World Adventures, and get autographs.

The Sims 3 Holiday Collectors Edition – object pics
Dec 4th
Toptrvsim over at the official Sims 3 forums just picked up The Sims 3 Holiday Collector’s Edition and has shared with us a picture of the items that came with the game. I’d figure we would at least see a Christmas tree, lights, more decorations…so this is kind of disappointing. I’m betting us regular users will see this in The Sims 3 Store (hopefully free) within the next week or two. I just hope they’ll have more…this is lacking…
EA Dances with the Stars, gives gifts of ‘The Sims 3′
Dec 4th
Are these people even stars? I don’t know as I don’t happen to watch the show. The Sims Team decided it would be nice to give the following folks a copy of The Sims 3 during the season finale of Dancing with the Stars. Could of picked a better show in my opinion, I don’t even think these people would even care about the game to begin with.
