New Badges on thesims3.com

You’re probably wondering, why are we reporting new badges in the store. Well we’re not. Actually, these new badges I am referring to can be found under the community tab. What’s so special about these badges? Well these badges have been up for a while now, they are rewarded for referring a friend or being featured and etc. However, the reason for this post is that the last seven badges (pictured below), are new and related to memories in Generations.
The Sims Best Custom Content

I was thinking of adding something to the website, where every so often I post about the most awesome custom content for The Sims games, whether it’s The Sims 1, 2 or 3, I don’t mind, if you let me know and I’ll get it out there, mainly because the store is a bit overpriced…
So, leave a comment with links to your favourite custom content and I’ll compile it into a big post very soon 
Iron Man Project Reboot

For those of you that check the site often, you might recall the “Iron Man Project” that I started. Unfortunately the original project files were lost due to a hard drive crash and no backups. I have decided to attempt to restart the project, I have no idea how long this will take, but hopefully the end result will be representative of the work. Also, the biggest hurdle to get over is the sheer amount of lots required to fill the neighborhood, if anybody would like to contribute lots (or sims for that matter) to this project, please email me the files. I will credit you in the description and you will be allowed to name the street that it is placed on (no obscenities), all types of lots are appreciated, but please don’t use store content or custom content, however content from all expansion packs and stuff packs is accepted. The Sims 3 + Mouse

iSims discovered a listing for The Sims 3 Special Edition that includes a sims-styled mouse for sale on the German retail website, ABC Software. Hopefully we might be seeing this in English soon.
“Champ les Sims” as Base World

Stw402 at the official site created a base world version of Champ les Sims from World Adventures. It’s called Champ Les Sims Deluxe. This is something that I’ve been waiting for since I first played WA. I’m not sure if you need WA since it doesn’t seem to say. I would assume so for the special patterns and nectar-making skill, etc. It’s been revised to add all of the rabbit holes, so it may look slightly different. (UK) A new look for The Sims 3 for PC?

According to a find by iSims, the standard Sims 3 base game is getting a new look, similar to that of The Sims 3 Deluxe in the UK. Kind of strange to see it change, but this isn’t the first time EA has made odd decisions. Just go with the flow, I suppose.
Pre-register for The Sims 3 free online trial

Well, this came out of the blue. It appears that EA has teamed up with Gaikai – an online service in which you can play the latest games without having to download or install the game. They are offering a pre-registration trial where you can sign up to be selected for a free one-hour demonstration of the game to give users a taste without purchasing it. On top of that, if you like it, they’ll give you a 25% discount. I’d like to have more details on this service – and I’m sure we will hear them soon – but for those that can’t run The Sims 3 on their current computer and would like to play, I’d consider giving this a shot to see how it’ll work out for you.
Note – the fact that it says online doesn’t mean that this is The Sims 3 Online, but rather you need an online connection in order for you to stream the game from the Gaikai servers.
UK: Top 20 PC Games Chart ending August 21, 2010

Sorry about missing last week’s chart! As you can see above, The Sims 3 is still holding on strong (as well as The Sims 2) . On the budget price list, we have The Sims 3 High-End Loft Stuff coming in at #2.

Of course, Starcraft II is #1 again, and more than likely will be for a long time to come, but at least The Sims series is holding strong and will end up reclaiming their top spot.

Without a doubt to anybody’s surprise, Starcraft II took the #1 spot, bumping down several games – including all those in The Sims franchise. Oh, as for The Sims 3 High End Loft Stuff, it’s #3 in the Budget Price Listing.
