GameSpot ‘Today on the Spot’ – EA Studio Showcase 2010

Did you miss the live feed of the 2010 EA Showcase?  GameSpot has you covered, check out their latest ‘Today on the Spot’ entry.  Listen closely to Rod’s speech and you’ll hear in mention that The Sims will be going thru different time periods, hinting at The Sims Medieval. ;)

The Sims are traveling thru time!

When your keyboard hits 88 keys per minute, you’re going to see some serious sh*t!

During the EA 2010 Showcase, when Rod Humble came out to show off the latest from The Sims Label, he made a short blurb about a new game in the franchise.  No, he did not make any mention of the name, but he did say that they were experimenting with taking The Sims thru various time periods (spin-offs) and that they have the game ready to be shown behind close doors – for those from big game publications like IGN and GameSpot.  This is no doubt The Sims Medieval which has been rumored at in the past.  Hopefully they won’t keep us in suspense for too long, I am curious to know about it!  I wonder what other time periods they’ll decide to venture to.

RUMOR: The Sims 3 Realm

I woke up up to this big, fat unbelievable rumor.  We are all curious on the fact of the various domain purchases for The Sims Medieval and this rumor ties into that.  Found by SmartSims, there is a listed game called ‘The Sims 3 Realm’ (another word for Kingdom) with a date of March 24th, 2011.  Now please, take it as it is – a huge, HUGE rumor.  There have been many rumors, not all have been destined to be wrong, but there’s much work and info to get before we call this one confirmed.

I’m Simillion, Reporting from Simprograms, We’ll keep you informed of any developments of this case.  Thanks to Sims 3 Nieuws for the information.

The Sims 3 Ambitions concept art possibly hinting at The Sims Medieval?

We reported about the fact that EA registered a number of domains relating to The Sims Medieval the other day, and the following concept art could put us at one step closer to confirming the title.  While browsing thru the game files, SimFans discovered around 500 pieces of concept art used for the drawing table in The Sims 3 Ambitions.  Many portray scenes from World Adventures and character arts, but there are some drawings that are medieval related.  Of course, there are two instances in Ambitions where a Sim comes out of the Time Machine donning the clothes from the Medieval ages, but seeing actual pieces of scenery may possible be giving us a sneak peak at what is to come from The Sims franchise.  You know how EA likes to sneak in little surprises, after all. Feel free to download a 17MB file containing all the artwork from SimFans, or just view the photos below.

If anything, we’ll have to wait closer to E3 later in the month as it may be announced then – or we could all be wrong and end up looking like donkeys!

The Sims Medieval

Another rumor to keep us wondering it’s even considered.  Medieval? Really?!  InfiniteSims & Sims 3 Nieuws brought this up that a few websites were registered by “alleged” criminal EA. They tried to cover it up, says witness InfiniteSims

What the witness, Jinx had to say about this acquisition:

The domains were all registered on 26 May 2010. Although not directly associated with Electronic Arts yet, there is a very good chance they may be hiding the details under the registrar to prevent a leak of sort.

In addition to this, there was talk at the end of last fiscal year that EA was in the process of developing a new Sims title, if these 2 are the same, then we can expect a release date of around January 2011 to March 2011.
