A Pirates and Nobles Q&A by SimGoodie

Our friends over at SimGoodie recently interviewed one of the producers on The Sims Medieval: Pirates & Nobles, Aaron Cohen.

  1. What is this epic story we read about in the press release?

Without giving away any spoilers, here is the set up. The pirates arrive after a shipwreck at sea. It seems someone sabotaged their ship and attacked them in the dead of night. They show up in the kingdom very unhappy.  The nobles arrive, ready to meet with the king, negotiate treaties and build more trade because the nobles love making money more than just about anything. Just as the kingdom seems to be settling down after all the drama, a noble man and a pirate lass disappear. Were they kidnapped? Are they lovers? Were they murdered? Accusations fly. Swords are drawn. And thus begins our story.

GameSpot Reviews Pirates and Nobles

Here’s a new preview of the upcoming Expansion for Medieval, Pirates and Nobles.

At EA’s recent Summer Showcase, we got our first look at The Sims Medieval: Pirates and Nobles, the new adventure pack set to come out later this month. As an add-on to this year’s The Sims Medieval, the pack comes with 16 new quests added to the original storyline and gives you options to either band with the pirates of Aarbyville or ally yourself with the nobles of Tredony.

But if you’re more of a loving, peace-keeping ruler, you may choose to not go with either and work out a peace treaty instead.

Depending on whom you align with, you can have a pet parrot or falcon on your arm to attack people. OK, these birds can do more than that, but it is fun to send your avian friend toward an unsuspecting noble to harass him or her–just a little bit. Falcons can also be directed to go off into the wild and hunt for you. In our case, it brought back a dead rat. We’re told that parrots can bring back other treasures and trinkets, and because it doesn’t cost you anything, you might as well put these birds to work.

News 10 Previews Pirates and Nobles

You know News 10, they’re the same people who gave us a video preview of Hidden Springs a few days ago. Now they have a preview of the first Medieval Expansion. check it out!

The game finds the player’s kingdom caught in the middle of two warring ones.  Whereas the core Medieval game is a non-coherent collection of quests, Pirates & Nobles‘ quests follow an overall story arc.  The expansion’s three different endings depend on what quests are ultimately undertaken and the outcome of those quests.
