Not too keen on the following rumor, but I do trust the source as it originates from Mark Joshua from SimVIP. Apparently PlanetSims picked up on the fact that Mark let a little something out about the second expansion for The Sims 3:
During our chat, MM left “escape” a valuable piece of information when he was in California, the game’s developers said they have almost Super Star in The Sims 3, hopefully in the next expansion, imagine the possibility of having stars will Holywood in our game? Let’s wait for the good news, where there’s smoke there’s fire.
Personally, I wouldn’t get my hopes up just yet – all in due time.

Even if this is a rumor, it’s nice to hear. Superstar never made it to The Sims 2, so workin’ your butt up in fame will be awesome….If this turns up legit.

Yeah, me too. I want pets/animals in the game. Maybe it will be in third or fourth expansion. I am not really crazy about Superstar. I have had it for Sims 1, and I don’t think I actually enjoyed it. However, we will have to wait and see if it is actually the second expansion, and what they have for it in.
Yay, this is a great rumour! And it already is implemented in the base game to a certain degree, so it would make sense to eventually have a SS remake. But this time, they need to expand on it. This time, make other kinds of fame careers such as modeling (or was that in SS already?), writing, music but with other instruments (not everyone is a rock star when famous in music and rockstars are too overrated), more in depth with acting, dancing, more sports choices, and more! With modeling, I’m a bit skeptical because unfortunately in the real world it is required to be ultra thin to even get anywhere, so I am curious to see how that’d play in Sims 3. I am sure EA would never make it that way in Sims 3 and I am glad because the Sims has always been a very neutral and fair-minded game. Oooh, and that talent you do with holding a doll next to you and you speak for it to maker it look like you are not speaking for it… what is that called… I forget! But that’d be cute to add! Basically, I just want Super Star but way expended and with more career choices. Oooh, maybe Nigtlife could be implemented in this? That can go very well since nightclubs are a big part of fame (at least with music for gigs and what not). If anything, adding a nightlife element would help expand on the rockstar career from the base game because I think it’s rather silly that a rock star career is available but no nightclubs are. But instead of downtown as the new location, Simmywood!
And now I can make a true Tori Amos Sim if they bring the piano back!

i’m hoping for the season first to come out. well… but i waited about the superstar thing come for the sims, since it’s missing from sims2…

Tracy: Exactly! If anything, the piano is a vry common instrument and I was shocked that it was left out, not to mention, it was in the base game of both Sims and Sims 2. Maybe even have other types of guitar like a Spanish guitar and banjo, etc.
I bet this is a fake rumour! The brazilians were also the culprits of the work/business expansion pack rumour, which left us all hanging up in expectation of a OFB remake. Besides if EA keeps the (or a similar one) structure used on the first expansions they made for The Sims 2 (which was “New Concept”, “Remake”, “New Concept”, “Remake” (…)) now we should get a entirely new concept, since World Adventures is somewhat of Vacation/Bon Voyage remake.
Well, I do agree on just a rumor part for now – you’re absolutely right. But considering that you can operate a business with World Adventures (you should be able to set up shops if previews/reports are correct) then yeah, technically they were kind of right on that part…
NOT!!!!! they didnt want anything from the previous games in this game and superstar was a sims 1 expansion.
@person World Adventures was in both TS1 (Vacation) and TS2 (Bon Voyage)..
i would love seein pets walkin the streets or snow fallling, but its only so much to do cause sims 3 is very graphical
The next Sims 3 expansion would be Sims 3 Rural Environment with pets and farm animals and weather to complete a excellent environment along with the grapes of France in the World Adventures for vineyard expansion and other crops.

I want superstar. T_T And hopefully I can organize an “official” music band T_T and play on clubs. I enjoy the autograph signing in sims 3 but I want more. T_T I’ve always hoped it would be their first expansion but WA is good anyway. But if this rumor is true I’d very much love it.
Well when you think about it guys weather as much as id LOVE to see it was a HUGE challenge for just the sims 2, could you imagine the WHOLE town being covered in snow its just gonna take a while to make. Pets would be cool to but what if they ran away or something (despite how funny that would be) but like i said it all takes time and superstars and world adventures are just easy to make because they’re not having to worry about stuff like that.
God Damnit! I want Open for buissness, Seasons, and Pets back! not some superstar crap…

I had the boring animals like dog’s what the hell, could you do with it in the came? and it only mad my game realy slow! But i pets was this time with farm animals like horses, pigs…. then i would buy it! Something new,
And appartments was realy cool but i believe they are going to gif parts of that expansion pack’s with free updates! Look the gave the basement stuff ass well i diddn’t had it in my game when i bought it!
What also would be cool is a proper babysitter!!! and cleaning made’s this system is just not cool! I would like the that we could see more of the town now we see only the buildings! I believe in the next pack’s like hot date we will be able to go to the movies and u see the inside of the theater??? Like is site of the office??? And i miss Sins Hobby’s that one was just so cool!
I loved sims superstar so this might be fun…but I’d love something that would add more paranormal/supernatural stuff to the game like vampires or aliens…ALSO, for the record I was sooooooo upset that they never released sims 2 freetime expansion for mac…. so I do hope they will continue to release the new ones at the same time.
ALSO, if you look at pets expansion in ts2 it was kind of a new orleans theme…and the new set “Old Town Starter Kit” kinda plays on that….so maybe thats a little hint as to whats coming next.
Man. I think it’d be lame if they followed up the first expansion pack with some thing so weak. I mean, superstars? Really? I would love to see pets and weather and then maybe superstars. I think the games needs more base to it then a superstar thing. You already have the feel of being a superstar in the game…I mean I guess they could make people run up to you a little faster to get your autograph….All I know is that if the next expansion pack is superstars then I’m definately not gonna waste the money unless it has some phenominal accoplishments in it.

Uni and Business, just so there is actually something to do when the game gets boring which happens very quickly given how stripped back the core game is. The biggest prob with business in Sims 2 was the god awful loading times, but with the way Sims 3 operates, this should be a lot better. Plus I adored Uni more than any other expansion…superstar crap…yeah…can do without that to be honest.
Definitely want a better, more in depth version of pets. There were certain breeds of dogs the were darn near IMPOSSIBLE to make because the options for certain body types were not available. And they should make different exotic pets available, such as lizards and gerbils, and things of that nature. And it definitely should include an element of farming. I think we should be able to have horses to ride and cows and things if we can make our houses look like farms and barns and things.
