Shapeways – printing your 3D Spore Creatures

I want to order my Spore creature…but I just can’t justify spending that much on something so freakin’ small.  I know the process costs a lot of money as it uses a 3D printer, I just wished many others would buy them to lower the price (that’s how it works, right?)

SpaceOddity’s Spore Blog found a blogpost written by Shapeways, which shares information on exporting creatures to Blender, as well as a short video demonstration of some of the renders:

I’m not sure if by printing they mean rendering or actually using a 3D printer…would be nice to see the results, and hopefully a cheaper method!
