This program is not really a “Sims” program, but it deserves to be mentioned as it has helped tons of creators out with creating content for their game. GIMP is an acronym for GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed program for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring.

It has many capabilities. It can be used as a simple paint program, an expert quality photo retouching program, an online batch processing system, a mass production image renderer, an image format converter, etc.

SecuBeGone

Thank you for downloading this file.

It’s purpose is to remove all remnants of SecuROM from your Windows system. While it does achieve most of this, you will need to (in most cases) use CCleaner to clear out two final registry entries. If you need CCleaner, please use the one included or download it from: http://www.ccleaner.com/ It is suggested that you check for updates from within CCleaner.

From the many, many hours of work done by a great number of people from around the world, I decided to make a batch file to help end users who, for any reason, do not want SecuROM on their system.

NOTE: *Please remember that in doing so, may render your game un-playable and may need to be re-installed.

A special note for Vista users. You will need to run this with Administrative rights.

Tools needed:

secubegone.bat
CCleaner
RegDelNull

****************************************************************************************

How to use:

There is no installation need for the batch file (secubegone.bat). However you will need to install CCleaner if you do not have it on your system. Also, make sure RegDelNull is in the same folder as the batch file. Simply run the batch file and press ‘OK’ for any pop-ups that may appear. When finished press any key to close the program. Then run CCleaner, both the Cleaner and Registry sections. Restart your computer to make the removal finalized/

*NOTE: If needed see further instructions on using CCleaner at: http://reclaimyourgame.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=71&Itemid=95

*******************************************************************************************

What to expect.

Some elements of SecuROM may not be on your system. If you see an message stating ‘error cannot be found’, don’t be alarmed. This is normal. If you suspect the program is not working properly, please visit: http://www.the-prism.com/ sign up for an account (it’s free) and post any questions you may have.

This is not to be used for commercial use and I cannot make any guarantees as each system setup is different. Although this software is relatively safe to use, there is no way to confirm it will work for certain on your Windows PC.

SecuROM Removal Tool

Download: Click here
Creator: Sony
Source: Simprograms

This tool was sent to me via one of the tech support guys over at SecuROM when I demanded that I wanted all of the files relating to SecuROM off of my machine. What this tool does is just that, removes all SecuROM related files, even the ones that are left behind in your registry when you uninstall your Sim games.

You can also use this to wipe SecuROM off of your system even with your Sim games installed. When you run it and remove SecuROM, you must NOT use your original game’s “.exe” file again or your CD as it will reinstall SecuROM on your machine. You will have to search for a “No-CD/Fixed .EXE” file to replace the original file.

Since linking to the site that offers the above mentioned fix would be illegal, you’ll have to search for it on your own. I suggest you use Google to search for the above text in bold to find the website to replace your .exe file. Make sure you read the sites instructions when you find the proper site!

SiMP3 Player 2.5

Download: Click here
Creator: Billy Harrelson
Source: SiMP3 Player 2.5 Homepage

Now Free! WORKS with Vista!

SiMP3 Player 2.5 will let you import MP3′s into The Sims 2 with ease! It will open them up and play them inside the program. You will then have the choices to import them into the game by a click of the button. And what’s best is that you can import as many as you want and to wherever you want. Then, the next time you boot up the game, depending on where you imported the music to, it will play in the game!

It now has new features as well! Two mini-tools are built into SiMP3 Player 2: “Batch MP3 Import” and “MP3 File Removal”. The “Batch MP3 Import” will let you locate and select multiple MP3 files to import into the game at once. You now don’t have to import them one at a time! The “MP3 File Removal” tool will let you scan your game’s music folders and will list all of the MP3 files you have added. It will give you the option to remove the ones you no longer want.

This program has been updated by Billy Harrelson to be compatible with Windows Vista. Not only that, but he has also included a few enhancements. Now, when you use batch importing, you’ll know how much space is going to be used on your hard drive. Also, as an addition, when you open a single MP3, if genre information is present, this will be displayed to better assist in what station to add it too.

Now Free! Does Not work with Vista!

SiMP3 Player 2 will let you import MP3′s into The Sims 2 with ease! It will open them up and play them inside the program. You will then have the choices to import them into the game by a click of the button. And what’s best is that you can import as many as you want and to wherever you want. This program is no longer supported. You can find the password in the readme file, but just in case, it is “simp3player2″ without the ” marks. I can no longer support it anymore due to Vista being installed (and lack of knowledge to recode it). It will not contain any options to import into any new music stations that “Seasons” or future expansions will have.

Sims 2 Serial Key Printer

Download: Click here
Creator: OtherworldBob
Source: Sims 2 Key Printer Homepage

This program does the leg work of going into your registry and finding your serial keys for your Sims 2 games, including the expansion and stuff packs.

It’s been made to combat “Lost Manual Syndrome” and also for people that have had their manuals destroyed by coffee or small children looking for something to draw on.

It also has the ability to print off your serial numbers so you can keep all your numbers together in one place.

Don’t worry, the program doesn’t access the internet, so it won’t be stealing your keys and sending them to web-pirates.

Also, you will need the Microsoft .NET Framework 2 to run it, you can download it HERE

It will not work if you don’t have that installed, instead you’ll get an unfriendly error message.

It can be downloaded from its webpage, which will be updated first if a new version is released, which is over here.

Would you like to know if The Sims 2 can run on your PC? Well, give this program a try! It will detect your system and compare it to Maxis’ specs for The Sims 2 to see if you are able to run the game!
