These tools should work if you have The Sims 3 or its expansions for the PC. They will allow you to modify your Sim’s characters – whether its the Sim’s body, clothes or even their properties and values. To download the files, you may either click the ‘Download Here’ button to start the process or you may be directed to a specific site where you can download it from there. You can also view a larger picture of the program by clicking on the thumbnail image provided.

This program allows you to create non-replacement custom hair meshes for The Sims 3. It generates entirely new hair packages that can be placed in game, and contains all possible linkages and correct file assignments – no “minimum effort” involved here!
This does not mesh, texture, make the geometry or otherwise create the original hair meshes and texture files you will use. All this program does is package up the various mesh lods and textures into a format usable by the game.
MorphMaker

Creator: CmarNYC

This program is a tool to make new morphs for body meshes and new CAS sliders for faces.
Features:
- Accepts morph meshes and converts them to BGEO files containing the morph information.
- Creates the necessary supporting files to use new morphs in the game.
- Edits clothing packages to import the new morph and link it correctly.
- Creates packages for sliders.
- Has help screens with brief instructions for the basic tasks.
What it does not do:
- Does not create morph meshes. Use Milkshape with Wes Howe’s plugins for that: Download here.
- Only runs on Windows.
Sims 3 Animator

You MUST have the .NET Framework 4 in order to use this application. Get it here if you don’t already have it.
After much hard work, TS3 Animator 2 is out! Here are some quirks that you will need to know about using TS3 Animator 2:
- There are no files involved in the interchange of data between MS3D and TS3 Animator v2 (see below)
- In order to commit your changes to the Actor/Slot table, double click in the white space anywhere in the Tree View under the “Actor/Slot Pairs” expander. Naturally, the same goes for the Clip Events section.
- Make sure that you select the correct grannyrig for the animation. While TS3 Animator v2 will tell you if you obviously have the wrong rig, (e.g. bar_rig instead of auRig) it might not tell you if your selection is not so obviously wrong (e.g. cuRig instead of auRig).
- When exporting an animation, make sure that you have the tab containing the animation which you want to export selected. Also, make sure that you have committed any changes made to the Actor/Slot pairs.
- The three text boxes at the top of an animation tab are the Animation Name, the Source File Name, and the Actor Name, respectively.
On the Milkshape Interface
- In order to edit the frame data, it is necessary to have extracted the two Milkshape plugins from the msPlugins folder in the TS3 Animator.zip file to where Milkshape is installed.
- TS3 Animator v2 uses a technology known as Memory-Mapped Files to exchange data with Milkshape. Thus, when you press “Send To Milkshape”, all that you need to do is to go to any Milkshape 3d window, and click “Get Animation” in the Animate menu, causing the animation which you are editing to be visible in Milkshape 3d. When you are done in Milkshape, press “Send Animation” in the Animate menu, and press “Get From Milkshape” in TS3 Animator V2, which is right next to the “Send Animation” button in the Frame Data expander.
- When in Milkshape, never select “b__ROOT__”, as this will cause Milkshape to crash, due to its limit of 255 joints. Also, try to only use the joints that you need (used joints are yellow-highlighted at some point in the animation), as any joint used will be included in the exported clip file (if you do not use a joint, it won’t be exported), and will be in the bind position through the animation (overlay animations don’t affect bound joints).
- Any technical difficulties in Milkshape, such as its crashing when “b__ROOT__” is selected, not being able to operate on individual joints (they all turn yellow when “Set Keyframe” is clicked), and any other crashes in MS3D are cause to email Mete Ciragan (mciragan['AT']gmx['DOT']net). The email should include a request for the support of skeletons significantly larger than 255 bones.
Before you use TS3 Animator V2:
- Download the Granny Crowd Scene Demo, install it, and copy granny2.dll from the Granny Crowd Scene Demo directory in Program Files to the directory that contains TS3 Animator.exe
- Download and install the Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable from Microsoft
Small Editors

Creator: Delphy
Source: Mod The Sims (MTS)
These are basically very small tools that do ONE thing and ONE thing only. Comes with the following:
- VPXY Editor: This tool allows you to edit the Visual Proxy (VPXY) resources contained in a package file, easily and quickly.
- FacialBlend Editor: This tool allows you to edit the Facial Blend files that tell CAS which BGEO and VPXY to use for a specific blend. This is used in CAS sliders and so forth.
- BoneDelta Editor: This tool allows you to edit and change the Bone Deltas associated with a specific slider, add your own, and basically make sliders linked to bones do stuff.
- BlendUnit Editor: This tool basically allows you to edit the simple BlendUnit files, which tell CAS which FacialBlends to use for a particular direction of a slider.
- CAS Slider Template Creator: This tool sets up everything you need to create a custom CAS Slider using the tools above. It automatically links together the Blend Unit, Facial Blend, VPXY and Bone Delta to create a Slider that works for a Sim. Please note that the strings generated by this tool are only English US – other languages aren’t generated but can be copied easily enough using S3PE or any other STBL editor. Also note that the “default” Slider WILL require changing and editing for it to work.
- SimGeom MTNF and TGI Editor: This was previously in the Accessories thread, but basically it lets you alter the MTNF (Material) chunk of a SimGeom file and can “fix” meshes where the comments section was lost in Milkshape, and thus they dont work correctly. Currently only editing is allowed – no adding or deleting of MTNF entries. However, you can change the TGIs, the Shader type, and Export/Import the bone references. Handy for the aforementioned comments loss.
Tattooinator
Download: Click here
Creator: CmarNYC
Source: Mod The Sims (MTS)
This started as a quickie tool to package tattoos for the game, but several people requested a previewer so after lots of hard work here it is.
Tattooinator takes your name for your tattoo, a 512 x 512 DDS file with the image, your CAS preset colors, and your sort order for CAS (high to low) and creates a package for the game. Tattoo images show up in the game somewhat differently than in an image editing program or a viewer, but the previewer will show you how your tattoo will look with each of your presets.
The Sims 3 Identity Generator
Download: Click here
Creator: 999z
Source: Mod The Sims (MTS)
Generate a full name and possible occupation based on gender, nameset and country. I see some people are getting confused on what this does; but, it’s just a random name generator to give you ideas and it doesn’t replace in-game names.
If the application cannot access the internet (fakenamegenerator.com) it will switch to Offline mode so it will still be usable.
Make sure you have .NET Framework 3.5 installed to be able to use it.
The Sims 3 Upload Image Changer (UIC)
Download: Zinda’s Golden Sims
Creator: Zinda

This program will allow you to change the image of your sims3pack file so when you upload to the official Sims 3 website, your preview images will appear different. Also works great for custom avatar images!
The Skininator
Download: Click here
Creator: CmarNYC
Source: Mod The Sims (MTS)
Non-default replacement skins for the Sims 3 are here. This is a small program to create the necessary support files and package them with your modified skins, all ready to be put in the game.
A couple of sample screens are below. The process is pretty simple: give your new skin a name and decide if it’s a non-standard/fantasy skin (like blue or green). If you’re using a new color ramp (the color gradient applied over the skin), select it along with the corresponding png thumbnail ramp. Load up the skin files you’ve modifed. Anything you don’t import into Skininator will use the game default. Then click the button to save your new skin package.
Since a new skin may involve dozens of files, you can save your project and reopen it later.
